Hello all!!

We're headed to WDW in the beginning of Aug for my mom's 60th birthday. We've got 4 rooms at POFQ and we're quite excited!!!

I'm looking to make my mom's day really special. Other than a dinner planned at Brown Derby (she wants Salmon and apparently that's the best place to get it) we wanted to do something awesome for her.

We've already come up with either doing a spa day, and swimming with the dolphins at Discovery cove, or the wild africa trek. But, I was wondering if there's any other options that we can do for or with her. She's loves excitement and awesome experiences.

Thanks for your input!

Isn't there a boat that you can rent to view Illuminations at Epcot? I always thought that sounded cool. Maybe a nice dinner before hand. I like the ideas you came up with!

Magic Kingdom Dinner at Be Our Guest.
Magic Kingdom Dessert Party where she could sit and relax and watch the Wishes Fireworks.

Ok, so the most awesome thing ever is very expensive... So, if cost is not a factor, get a VIP tour guide for the day. (The official ones... Through Disney) you have to reserve then for a minimum of 6 hours. They start in the morning by picking you up from your resort and taking you by van wherever you want to go. They will take you into the parks the bak way, and then will scan your tickets at the front at some point in the day. They act as instant fast pass, and can plan priority VIP seating at shows. Sometimes they can even arrange meal reservations. Even if it looks like there are mine available. So, prettying she would feel awesome all day. But it's expensive. I'm a teacher and went with friends who make considerably more than I do. He surprised me with this, and they never let us know the actual cost. I think it's between $200-300 per hour. On a a less expensive note, the dessert party for wishes would be great. You could try to setup 6 magical moments for her. One for each decade. She could get a queenly crown from the crystal place on magic kingdom and be queen for the day.

Also, you can order a custom cake to be delivered to a restaurant. I ordered one for my friends birthday and it came out beautifully!!

I second the idea of a tour. Keys to the Kingdom is pretty neat. Artist Point at Wilderness Lodge also specializes in salmon. I've had the salmon at the Brown Derby and though it was excellent.

One thing I did on my 60th b'day trip was to go over to POP Century and take a picture in front of the giant psychedelic 60, lol. Didn't cost a thing & I love it!! There are also signs for each year from the 50's to 1999 that tell what was happening that year. Great photo op.

We did that for my cousin's 50th too! One of our favorite pictures! You could treat her to a tie-dye cheesecake (bring a candle) while you are there!

I'm going at the end of January for my mom's 60th and I have plans to order a special custom cake to be delivered to our dinner at Chef Mickey's. I'm getting her the one with the white chocolate Cinderella slipper on top. I am also ordering flowers and a balloon to her room from Disney florist.
