lol, i thought it was just mine. 5 yr old DS can be happy one minute and totally sad the next.

thank you OP for this thread. It sounds like you son is normal. Mine will say things like, i don't want to be your friend anymore, "i am stupid" or "no one loves me" etc. 2 minutes later he is hugging and kissing me like nothing happened.

And I though I was the only one going crazy! My DD will be 5 this month and has decided she can decide everything for herself. (Boy is she wrong) She picks on her twin brother and sister (3 yrs) and acts like she doesn't hear me most of the time unless it is something she wants. Needless to say I am battling her, potty training her sister and trying to get my son to drink and eat enough to survive. I can't wait for september and I never thought I would be one to say that. I never realized a 5 year old could have such growing pains.

AUGH! Today I told him I would put soap in his mouth everytime he said he hates somebody. We'll see.......I better stock up on soap. :)

Our experience with both of our boys was that the terrible twos are nothing compared with the furious fives. Very stubborn. Good Luck!! :)

This was our experience too.
