Does this sound WAY too high to anyone else.
I just talked to a friend who got a qoute to join us on a sept 05 7 day western.
They have a family of 5 all kids under 12.
They were qouted $6000 for 2 rooms.....given I don't know yet any specifics but I said "you must have done something wrong"
Anyone out there who has booked for a family of 5?????
What did it cost you????

KC:hyper:

Sounds very possible... we booked Cat 4 for 4 people on the 7-day Western this July 3. It's >$8000.

Sounds about right for 2 cat 7 rooms. The 1st 2 people in a room are charged the full fare, regardless of age.

we are going on the 7night western in 3 weeks and have a family of 5... we got 2 inside cat 11 rooms for $4,700 through expedia.... not sure if that is a great deal but it seemed reasonable.

We are a family of 4 and we booked the Western on June 5th. We have a cat. 5 room with a verandah and it was around $6900!!!

Just got back from Western Carribean and $5500 for category 5 no air for 2 adults 2 kids. This was with the booking on our last cruise discount.

My family & I (4 total) are sailing 10/16- lower rates + we booked well in advance. We got a cat. 6 w/ verandah and a cat. 11 directly across the hall.....twice as much space & we get our privacy....for $5700, taxes & insurance included, but no transfers or air, I'd rather do that myself...be creative !!!!

I will love the extra space & no shower wars w/ 3 girls! LOL

 Lisa

For our family of six (2 adults, 4 children) to take the 7 night June Eastern cruise, in two category 10 rooms, the quote was $8600!

We've had to "settle" for taking the 4 night and add a few days in Disney.

Hopefully I can plan ahead next time and book at a cheaper rate.

OMG! I just did a request for rates for a 7 day Oct '05 cruise, there are the 6 of us, I think I'm going to be in sticker shock too!

We are leaving on wednesday for the 7 day land and sea...staying at the Disney BCR for 3 nights and a 4 day Wonder cruise, we paid $5400.00 including transfers and airfare. We booked a category 6 with verandah~

There are 5 of us staying at POR in WDW for 4 nights, then we are taking the 4 night cruise on the Wonder....all adults,,
total cost, including airfare was $10,400.00

I just checked www.allseastravel.com and booking two rooms with them, depending on category will run them a little over 4K for two category 10's and up to 6k for two category 6's. If they're not using them and getting higher quotes, direct them here. They have the lowest prices I can find on DCL cruises.

We have a family of 5 and are going 8/04 eastern. We have a cat 6 and cat 11 directly across the hall. The cost with air, taxes and insurance is $10,500. My husband still doesn't know what it costs, and he doesn't want to know. I think he"ll enjoy it more. "Ignorance is bliss";)

We have 4 adults and 2 kids in a category 1 room leaving on May 15th for 7 days on the Magic....I don't want to participate in this conversation.

How many kids do you have? If you only have 1 they can book their 5th child to your room and save them tons-
I looked at allseas and yes they should be able to get in for well under 6000 (***9/10/04 =$4062) for connecting cat 10s- If they book soon they may be able to score secret portholes (Outside cabins for inside cabin price)

***EDITED TO ADD- OOPS- I posted wrong date- I meant to say Sept. 10, 2005 NOT 7/10/05

This is our 3rd vacation to WDW, and our 1st WDW cruise.....
I can tell you, as I am sure LOTS of other members of this board
will agree....that the memories you will collect, as well as all the fun you will have, make the trip well worth the money!::yes::

About 3 weeks ago I booked a cruise for my parents who are taking my kids. It was considered "short notice" since we are booking for this July. We booked a 7-day Eastern, 2 adults, 2 children, one room, category 9 for $5116.00. I used www.cruisecompete.com. Disney gave me the highest price of $6100, two other agencies through cruisecompete were about $5700 and $5300. Then the final agent (I believe it is cruisevactions.com) booked us at the $5100 rate.

Your rate sounds reasonable for two rooms, but I would put a bid out on cruisecompete.com

I would love the collect the memories that Brett will have from his cat 1. (not the bill ~ just the memories)

Our trip for four adults and an infant including air fare....(land/sea) and two category 6 rooms is costing us close to 11,000.....soo sounds very reasonable...prices are crazy! but everyone seems to be going back and doing just fine!

(7/10/04 =$4062) for connecting cat 10s- If they book soon they may be able to score secret portholes (Outside cabins for inside cabin price)
Wow....I think this is terrific for July---is this for a family of 5 ?
I booked in March '03 for a 7 night Western in Nov '04 for our family of 5. Got final price of $4,093.85 for two connecting SPH cat 10's from DU. I just find it unusual that my off-season price is higher than CheapMom's summer rate. Good find.
