We are in the countdown to head to Universal and I wanted to know if there are any last minute tidbits of information you would like share. Things you learned through your own experiences or after the fact. We are heading out of DC early Friday morning and I just want to make sure I haven't missed anything.:hyper:

I have gained a ton of knowledge by reading these boards and can't thank you enough! I will make sure I take plenty of pictures and take note of anything that may help others so I can add to the generosity of this board.

I can actually count - we're coming in a day early, just didn't change my ticker. :goodvibes

What's the first thing you are going to do when you get in the park? We're hitting the Mummy first thing - thank goodness we got to see WWoHP during the soft opening phase when it was only open to on-site hotel guests...takes the pressure off this trip!

Have a fantastic vaca!!!

LOL We haven't decided yet. I know from going on here, I'm going to take some time and go through the information they give us at the hotel when we first check in so I don't miss out on any specials. I would like to say we will head over to Universal and hold off on WWoHP until Saturday morning, but I don't see it happening.

How exciting that you guys got to see it when it was first opening with a small crowd(considering what they get now)! I bet it was heaven. :worship:

You have a great vacation too! If you see a shorter woman with brown hair in her cough30scough waving a wand at everything that moves, it's probably me. :rotfl2:

You bet it was! :wizard: I am a little scared about just how awful the crowds are now, but I am super-stoked to see it at night!

Be careful with that wand, you'll shoot your eye out...oh wait, that's a Red Ryder BB Gun! :rotfl2:

And you totally have to go to WWoHP when you get there - even if you just look and come back in the morning. Walking in for the very first time is just too awesome. :)

We will be there too!!! So excited about our first visit to Universal-I'm ready to forget school and work and leave now!!

I hope everyone has a great time! Hopefully the weather will warm up SOON. :thumbsup2

Leaving Saturday at 4am & hope to be there by lunch time. Got 8 pre-paid discount tickets from back in January & packing today :) So excited!

Do they sell HP postcards in either park? I looked online and they do have a stationary set, but I would really like some postcards to write a quick note home and get a Hogsmeade postmark.

I do not recall seeing any postcards. Also, the stamps they sell are seriously marked up collectibles. I took my own pre-stamped note and had it Hogsmeade Owl Post stamped on the back and then dropped it in the mail slot there. I also took my new passport and had the Hogsmeade stamp placed in there too!

Unless they have sold out of them, they had postcards at the Owl Post. They had about 4 or 5 different ones when we were there - I bought two different styles, but they had a few more. They are tucked in the corner along the back wall - of course, they could have moved them by now. :)

And have them stamp it with the Hogsmeade mark first - then write your note. If you do it the other way around, the mark can spill over onto your note and make it hard to read. Not that I have firsthand knowledge of that or anything....:rolleyes1

I learned something new today.. didn't know about the Hogsmeade postmark. I'm sure my kiddos will like sending their friends some postcards. We will hopefully visit Universal on 12/20:santa:

We fly in tomorrow and we'll be at WWOHP bright and early on Saturday morning. I am ridiculously excited...especially since I am looking at the 5 inches of snow we got overnight. SO grateful that the storm was last night instead of tonight. :woohoo:
