6 Year Old Trapped in a Balloon. Boy Found Alive - Hiding at Home!

I wouldn't consider it a hoax, so much as an error. The boy probably let the balloon go, and then hid because he was scared of getting in trouble.

My heart hopes this is the case.

But police said the family said the compartment did not looked breech. IF there was a missing part that was there when the balloon was on the ground, surely they would have said that, no?

There is some doctor on tv talking about the helium he may have been exposed to and what that would have done to him physically.. Not good - losing consciuosness; seizures; brain damage; etc. - due to his size - and likely to cause him to fall out..

I would really prefer to hear that this is a hoax..

I hope that if he did fall the helium had caused him to lose consciousness first.

They had a press conference. A police officer said that there was some type of cardboard box thing that had been attached to the balloon. It was not attached when the balloon landed.

A balloon expert is saying that the balloon looked like it was larger than what would have been used for a cardboard attached container. The balloon was never meant to carry a person. Because the balloon is bigger than what would be used for that size container, it would have ascended very fast. Once it got to a higher altitude, the tape used to connect the attached box to the balloon would have experienced stress.

I really hope the little boy is just hiding somewhere, but it doesn't sound good. They've searched the immediate area around the home and have not found him.

Chiming in late, but I totally remember that family from Wife Swap. That episode was rerun on Lifetime maybe 2 weeks ago or so. Prayers they find Falcon safe!

I remember that family and they were really wild and the boys were well...had no discipline. They were very hyper and were good at not telling the truth and the Dad and mom were like 5 year olds. And they talked about this balloon on the show hoping to make it big enough to carry them.

I hope to GOD that the little boy did not go in it. This is the time you are hoping that the boys are lying. Idiot parents having something like this in there yard to crawl into blown up. I can see the parents talking to the boys about how cool it would be to crawl inside and take off....

They keep mentioning that the boy is most likely hiding because he is in trouble and scarred like little boys would do ....but this family believed in no punishment at all. So there for this little boy would not hide at all.....he would just laugh in his parents face....no kidding.

They also keep talking about a hoax.....personally I can see the parents sending it off themselves to see if it would fly in addition to getting it seen on the news and his accomplishments....and telling the boys to take the blame. He could not brag enough about what he was inventing.

So both could easily fit this family.....what a shame.

DS who is 12 said "Mom tells ya how the family is that when the boy took off in the balloon the brothers were on the roof with a camera video tapping it instead of running in the house screaming that their brother is flying away...

I live outside Denver and I am so glad that thing came down in Weld County which is the country and not a few miles away which is the start of the metro area and DIA.

The whole thing is weird. The Wife Swap thing esp. I mean pretty much any family that makes it on that show is going to be wacko.

I hope to God they find him safe and sound, I was almost ill when they were showing it and could barely watch once it landed.
