Hello,
I'm sure this question has been answered before, so I'm sorry to ask it again: Could anyone recommend a reasonably priced hotel room for 6 people near DL (myself and 5 children, aged 17 to 5 years old)? I thought I'd read that Best Western Park Place Inn had rooms for 6 people, but when I looked online today, it looked like I'd need two rooms (?)
Thank you!!

We stayed last year at bwppi and they do have rooms for 6. I think it was called a suite. They have 2 beds and a pull out sofa.

Park Vue Inn, Castle Inn, Anaheim Plaza Inn, Best Western Park Place Inn, Desert Palms inn and Suites, Carousel Inn and Suites, Camelot Inn and desert inn and suites are the walking distance ones. I don't know much about them except they all have suites to accomidate at least 6 people. I hear good things about the desert inn and suites and I've stayed at the Camelot and it was nice though.

My friend (family of 6) stayed at the BWPPI in one room (perhaps a suite....it was about $140/night) late last year. They did not get 2 rooms. We always stay next door at the Park Vue....and I'm pretty sure they have a limited # of suites. Good luck and have a great trip!

Desert Inn and Suites C-1 or C-2

We have 5 of us going in June- and we are staying at the Ramada Inn Maingate- we have a suite that has 3 beds, and 2 bathrooms...very close to disneyland, and very affordable!

I absolutely 100% would NOT suggest the Castle Inn & Suites. We had a party of 6 (4 kids, 2 adults) and we stayed there. I was so excited as I had always wanted to stay there.....NEVER again will we stay there. It was horrible, the room was loud with maid carts and people running and screaming down the corridors at 6:30 am, the room was not cleaned well prior to our check in time (some rather dark curly hairs very visible in the bathroom, soda bottle tops on the floor, trash in the cans and a few other things), the room had 4 towels for 6 people, we asked 3 times for towels and NEVER got them, we finally took them from a maid cart ourselves. The staff was rude when my DD12 called down to ask them a question, the pool had no towels...I really could go on and on but I'll end it with this, I emailed the manager (who "wasn't available" when I asked to speak with him/her) and got NO response from them at all. If I was you I would call in house reservations at the HoJo and ask for Jennifer or Lorealle, either one will be happy to help you with your booking and they do have suites there, there are also suites at the Tropicana & BWPPI but you should call the hotels directly to ask about them.

The Portofino is slightly out of walking distance, but on the shuttle route. We have stayed there in the Kids suite, and loved it! The main room has a King bed, with pocket doors into the kids room, with bunk beds and a fold out sofa.
I second Park Vue, though. The location can't be beat. I'm pretty sure they have suites also.

you know on our first trip we were worried about this as well, our first thought was to hide one of the kids. But when we called i was sure to mention that we had 6 people, they said it wasn't a problem albeit our 4 girls were ages 7,5,3,1. It might be the higher age thing that is causing you problems, cause this year we are staying at HoJo and they once again said it is a NON issue. We got a premeium two queen room, with a disneyview, $79 with entertainment book discount. If you want to not tell them, blow up matresses are a good fix. Hope that helps! If all else fails ask for Jennifer Vitalis, she was our reservation person, and help out quite a bit. If you read the Howard johnson threads you will see that others had had a similary good experience with her.

I don't know when your trip is planned, but the HoJo is starting to book their new kids suites for stays starting in July. They sleep up to 6 with a king bed, bunk beds and sleeper sofa. They have two bathrooms with the new bedding and fridge/microwave. I got the room reserved in Oct for around $114 a night with our 15% disboard discount. They also have a 20% AP discount. I think that the room run in the $165 a night range during busy times. You can check for it online, it's listed as a king suite with bunk beds and pirate themed.

My only complaint about them is that they are Hwy facing rooms....

we stayed at Comfort Inn Maingate for 5 days/nights in '07. We had a suite (we have 4 children, so there were 6 of us in all, our oldest was 15 at the time). The room had two queen beds, and a kids room, which had a set of bunkbeds, it's own t.v., a little table and chairs for the kids to sit and color, etc., and drawers for the kids' clothes. Also plenty of floor space for little kids to romp around and play. The kid's room had a door that shut, so we could rest and watch t.v. in the main room, without kid noise being a problem. The door between the main room and kid's room had a large window in it with a curtain that could be drawn back so we could still see inside the kid's room at all times. Also, the kid's room had it's own A/C unit.

we payed about $115 per night.

We booked thru Travelocity in 2005 for the Desert Inn & Suites, located by the pedestrian crossing on Harbor Blvd. We had 3 adults, 3 almost adult teens & a 3 yr old. There were 2 rooms with 4 queen beds, a couch, larger fridge (not house size, but not the dorm room size either), microwave & 2 bathrooms. It worked great for our family & the price was very reasonable. They also have a viewing deck for the fireworks which we used a few times.

how do you get a disboard discount?

how do you get a disboard discount?

You need to call in house reservations and just mention it ~ you can also get the ent. discount which is also 15% off, you'd need to have a ent. card. I just booked a kids suite at HoJo's for mid-late Oct. With the 15% discount it's less than 2 rooms at the ent. rate of $59. We'll only stay in a kids suite if others join us, if it's just me and my kids we'll stay in a $59 room. I'll be anticipating reviews of the kids suite!

Interesting. The Anaheim fire code only allows 5 people per standard room unless it has been revised which I doubt. If you look at their ressie site, occupency is only 5.

Sounds great! Thanks for the info!!

Thank you all very much for the great information! Our trip will be in spring or summer of 2010, but I am planning ahead. I will print this thread and keep it so that I know which hotels to check further into! I thought I'd book everything in the fall.
Thanks again!
