Just trying to plan our trip. I figured our first day of arriving we could go to downtown disney. I have never been to downtown disney so I'm not sure what a good timeframe is. We arrive at the airport at 12:15 and I figured by the time we got checked in to movies and got downtown it would be by 4. Hopefully? I want to try to eat at Trex once we arrive. Is this enough time to go to eat, and do some major shopping? We have another half day available, but I'm thinking about getting upping our disney passes an extra day so we have more time there? What do you think?

T-Rex is a must so your off to a great start! 6 hours would be plenty of time for my family to shop and check it out. We usually do so in less time but may skip a few stores. If there is a dance party at the stage that's were my kids want to be.

ya we are going to be there about 6 hours as well

Wolfgang Puck counter service
the balloon ride thingy
bowling and a bit of Disney Q and some shopping, packing alot in :thumbsup2

Unless you are doing Disney Quest it would be about 3-4 hours to long for my family. We never spend more than a couple hours there.

I think it really depends on what you are planning on doing. If you are doing the balloon, bowling and/or Disney Quest I would think 6 hours would be good. To just eat and shop, that is a long day there. We aren't big shoppers though so we only spend about 3 hours there when we go.

I agree, just depends on what you want to do. If you only want to do T-rex and shopping that will probably be enough. I am glad we planned to spend a little time there on our last day though, we got some treats for home and some last minute souvenirs that we saw but weren't sure of before and I let them pick a pin from the pin trading store (they asked to buy stuff at all the carts/stores along the way and we told them that on the last day they could pick one)

I can't imagine spending that much time there. I personally don't like DTD and we haven't gone in a few years. We plan on going this year on arrival day due to our son loving legos. But we'll be fine if we skip it again this year. I'd prefer to hang out at the resort. :thumbsup2

If you are planning to eat at T-Rex, I really hope you have a reservation. That place is always crazy busy and very hard to get in without reservations.

I also think 6 hours in a bit longer than we've ever been. You can easily get lost in World of Disney for a hour, and if you have a meal and/or go bowling, then you might need that long... enjoy!

Might depend on the time of year you are going but we didn't make reservations and walked up to T-Rex when we were there and the wait was 20 minutes at 5pm

Make a reservation for T-Rex for sure. I read a suggestion on another thread to call T-Rex directly to make a res. vs. making res. through Disney. They had stated there are more time slots available by calling directly. When we made a lunch res. we couldn't get in until 2:45pm. We probably spent 1.5 hrs there. And were big shoppers so we spent the entire day at DTD. So 6 hrs. would be good to grab a meal, do some shopping and check out DTD. If your planning on doing other activities like bowling, movies, etc. then you may need more time. Enjoy!
