We have 6 full days to spend in Orlando.
We are thinking of doing MK, AK, Epcot, MGM, water park and Universal.

I am debating whether to forget Universal and go to one of the Disney parks for two days instead.

Thoughts?

I would prefer to spend another day at Disney and forget Universal... I think it depends on who will be there with you - is it just adults or children too? I guess it depends too, on what kind of tickets you will be getting. Last August, we were there for 8 days and really enjoyed having the UPH to go back and forth between the parks. We broke our days up by going back to the hotel in the afternoon or switching parks mid-day. There is plenty to do and see and enjoy staying with Disney! You may want to plan to go to DTD at some point also... DQ is fun (for a while), and there are plenty of shops to browse around in.

Have fun!

There is so much to do at WDW and US that it can truly be overwhelming. I must say that my 2 sons (8yo & 10yo,) have enjoyed all of it, and loved staying at Universal HRH last year and spending alot of time at IOA and US. I think both your 8yo and especially the 19yo would like these parks. The lay-out of both parks and City Walk all being together make it easy to get to both parks. It's the getting out of a park once you get in that make it hard-because there is so much to do.

Good Luck, whatever you do, and most importantly, schedule time at the hotel for relaxing and swimming. Don't feel like you have to do it all. Enjoy your time!

Hi tboss. We always hit Universal when we go to Orlando. Im not sure if your kids are boys or girls or if they like thrill rides or not. If they do then hit Islands of Adventure. We love it there, several coasters to ride, Spiderman, JP. Universal Studios is also fun with Men in Black, Back to the Future, Terminator 3d.
For us MK, Epcot and MGM take a full day. If you missed some things and you hit one of the parks again you could hit one in the pm after your AK day or waterpark day.
BTW fellow Houstonians here :wave2:

I'd forget Universal AND the water park. If you're going in the summer, remember the weather may not cooperate enough to go to any waterpark for a day. We planned diligently to make room for BB and TL and guess what--thunder showers blew in and the parks were cleared each day! What a waste of time that was. After that, we get our pool fix at the resort.

Since we're a total Disney family--we would never leave the World to drive to another site; time is too precious and there's too much to enjoy at WDW.

Also, I agree that you'll want to go to DD. The Disney Store there is not to be missed. And in the evening, the artisans are working in many of the stores; watching them while they do their craft is very interesting as well.

Here we come (in June)!

My kids love Universals as much as WDW. Hence, this year, we are splitting our stay between Poly and HRH! It will be our first USO stay!
