6 Days - Do them all together? Or break them up to avoid weekends?

Our next trip will be the first time with 6 day PH's (typically, we do 5 days).

I'm trying to figure out whether we should do a M-F, using either the Sunday before, or the Saturday after, as the 6th day.....OR, should we avoid the weekend altogether, try to run down to San Diego for the weekend, do Sea World and LegoLand (have been collecting free LegoLand passes for the kids from their Lego Magazines...), and break up the 6 days between the two M-F periods before and after the San Diego weekend?

What makes the most sense?

P.S. This will be in mid September, and both Saturday AND Sunday are unblocked for all AP's.

Speaking purely from an avoid the exhaustion point of view, I would break things up. We spread our 6 park days over a 10 day period, never going to the parks more than 2 or days in a row....but that's just us..

I'd probably try to break it up. I find 5 or 6 days in a row to get tiring. However, after a day or two of doing something else, I'm ready to go again! That time of year, you might want to plan to be there at least one Fri or Sat night for the nightly entertainment factor as well since it probably won't be running midweek.

We just returned from 5 days in the parks (opening to closing each day), we went black friday and then returned M-Thur. I was glad we had that break inbetween, by Thursday we we kinda getting tired and all. I think if you could maybe do a couple, break and then go back would be great.

Having gone during September when APs are unblocked it doesn't make it suddenly crazy.

If you skip the weekend at DL you risk missing F! and the fireworks.

If you go to SD on the weekend you will find huge crowds at Legoland, the beach, the safari park, that aren't there on weekdays.

i think you are best to break it up but split the weekend up.

I'm with those who say to break it up but don't be afraid of the weekend. I love the weekends because of the long hours and the expanded entertainment offerings.

Ditto. By the end of the 2nd day with friends, my favorite ride is The Bench in the Shade. Well, maybe The Bench in the Sun now that it's cooling down for Winter.

For those who suggest doing the weekend at DLR, which day would you do if it were you?.....the saturday before the M-F (doing multiple days in a row isn't a problem for us, lol...we could probably do 10 in a row and still want to go back), or the sunday after the M-F?

I was thinking SeaWorld and LegoLand wouldn't be a problem on the weekends, despite crowds, because we don't care at all about doing rides in those parks. Doing LegoLand strictly to see the structures (my son is a Lego enthusiast), and doing SeaWorld strictly to see the animals.

I don't really know what else to do if we decide to avoid the weekend...plus, we need to use these free LegoLand tix.

I would be temped for Sunday because the crowds tail off at night. But it also has shorter hours. Assuming if you went on Saturday you would go Friday too and Friday night gets super busy as people come after work.

I'm sure you will end up doing rides. Especially at Seaworld since there is only a few the family will be itching to sample that excitement.

In the Holiday catologue the ticket offer in it is good through dec of 2011. But as I had mentioned I be more worried about going before your kids are too old for Legoland, but there is always the store in DTD.

Living in San Diego, I personally find more "locals" who go to Sea World and the Zoo/WAP on Sundays, but the drive down to San Diego on a Sat can be pure torture. Unless you leave before 8am, expect double to triple the amount of time to get down I5. Going back up to Orange county on Sunday evening can also be problematic.
From feedback from friends who had Legoland passes, I'd say the weekdays are the best for going. Same with my experience at Sea World. September can be expected to be pretty dang hot, and WAP is the hottest of the San Diego attractions.
The USS Midway in the harbor can be a fun half day trip. We were pleasantly surprised that our first trip to San Diego we went on the half harbor cruise and the Midway trip and of all the things we did, that was one of everyone's favorite.
Make sure you check schedules at whatever non-Disney attractions you might be interested in.
Ultimately, whatever way I chose, I would break the trip up. Maybe even spend one "down" day just hanging out at the pool, DtD, or even a movie. September should still be great for beach day. Huntington beach near the pier is a great beach.

Never notice there's free admission tickets inside. Which month you found? Hope I still save some of the magazines..
