My icons will tell you, it was good and bad. The good first: There was no one else in our whole building except for our two studios. It was super quiet all day and all night except for our last night when a herd of elephants moved in above us and stampeded back and forth across the room till midnight. Will you people please sedate your brats when you are staying in a room above other people?!. {that was a bad} Waiting times at Epcot where almost non- existent even for test track! AK wasn't all that bad, in spite of it's small size. Disney MGM, so-so , Lines at star tours were bad as well as Muppets. Suprisingly, lines at RnR and ToT were not that bad. It was overcast and raining about 50% of the time which I guess was part of the reason for no large crowds. Also. we did not need PS for any meal except CM's, and we were an hour late and we still got in {it was a cloudburst that morning} The one man's dream exhibit will be held over indefinitly at mgm. The bad; MK was a nightmare! The park had to be at capacity Sat. and Sun., right from the opening bell! And contrary to a thread somewhere on these boards, the price of soft drinks and water did not go down. There's more, I'll get back later.
OK, I'm back. My wife was looking over my shoulder while I was typing the first part and said that the "brats" comment was unecessary, then I reminded her that she wasn't very happy while this was going on either. Anywho, we had read the day before we left that WDW was cutting back on their help, and we did notice that there seemed to be less cast members in certain areas,in particular at the main gates of the parks. For instance, they had one poor little girl running back and forth between 8 entry turnstiles at the AK . It looked like she was about to have a nervous breakdown! The one really good part was that our sons girlfriend had not been to WDW in almost 15 years. Needles to say, she was pretty much in awe about everything . She said she remmembered very little about her original trip when she was a little girl.. Of course, there was no MGM, pleasure island, or AK when she was there. Our son "tricked" her into going on RnR, ToT,Splash Mtn. and body wars, since she is not really a "thrill ride" person. But she enjoyed everything she went on. They both wished that the new space ride was open. I've got more info, but I'll have to post more another time.
