6 day/7 night $1500 deal Question

Hi everyone,

I have an important question. I saw the thread about the 6 day/7 night deal at a Value resort for a family of four. My question is this: are there deals for the moderates or the deluxes as well? I really don't like the value resorts.

Yes, there are deals, they're just more than $1500 (depending on when you travel). You could probably get 6 nights at a moderate with tickets for around $1500 if you travel during value season.

We are going for 9 nights in September (with tickets and free dining) - 2 adults, 1 child, 1 "infant" (age 2) for $1,420 (staying at a value). If we wanted a moderate, the differance was about $67/night - an additional $600 for us. We really wanted to stay at Coronado Springs, but decided the $600 would be better spent on airline tickets and park extras. We enjoyed Pop last year and are really not in the room that much, so it was a relatively easy decision.

As for Deluxes - Wilderness Lodge or Animal Kingdom Lodge (lowest price rooms) were an additional $117 per night. The other deluxes were over $200 more per night.

A room at POP for 10 nights
and of course - free dining!

for a total of $2264 ???

I am not sure if that is really a 'deal'...but an advertised price. I consider the free ticket upgrades and free dining a 'deal' or incentive. CathrynRose, that is wierd that your price is so much higher! DBF and I are going for 5 nights, staying at POFQ (Mod.) w/ 5 day Hopper, and free dining for around $1200.00. Your price sounds about right, possibly the other poster misquoted. Otherwise they got an amazing deal!

We will be staying at the Swan for six nights and have MYW 7Day PHE (Ticketmania)for close to that. We qualify for the government rate and were lucky enough to get the room for 129 a night.

So yes, I think you can do it but you must start early to get the lower rates.

OK - we have 2 adults and 1 child (our 2 year old is free). You have 4 adults. We have 10 day BASE tickets - no options. It looks like we will be at POP at the same time (Sept 23 - Oct 2) and will both be at Mama Melrose on 9/28 for dinner at around the same time (saw that on the "Who will be at Pop" thread)!

I did not mis-quote; I did get an amazing deal but anyone could get the same thing if they booked before the free dining offer expired. The breakdown of our costs are as follows:

POP $88.09 per night x 9 nights = $792.81
Adult 10 day base tickets 2 x $221.52 = $443.04
Child 10 day base ticket = $179.99
Dining = FREE
TOTAL = $1,415.84 (I rounded up to $1,420 in the original post)

I booked directly through Disney and this is rack rate for POP during value season.

This is why we love Disney so much - we would have spent this much for a week at the beach! We always go in September and that will have to change soon as we can't keep taking our daughter out of school when she gets into the higher grades (she will be in 2nd this year).

It looks to me like it's the age of your children. They're considered Adults for tickets and dining. It could also depend on when you're traveling.
