Hey everyone

It’s been three years since my last trip to Disney with my boyfriend at the time. Now at 22, I’m going back but with five or six friends.
We’ll be traveling to the area Jan 8-15 and staying at my parents time share at westgatelakes resort and spa.
Do you have any tips on how to budget a cheap trip with five college students?
Maybe cheap taxis, restaurants, places to buy groceries, rent a car etc.

Also, we’ll be getting a one day park hopper pass at $136 since I doubt we’ll be able to afford a two day at $216… any suggestions on which attractions/ rides to fit on.. and on what day of the week?
I was thinking epcot at night but It’s stink to miss Fantasmic at MGM…this will be many of my friends first trip keep in mind.

Thank you soooo much!
Sarah

There are plenty of cheap food sources in Kissimmee. There are grocery stores, fast food, Golden Corral etc.

Do you have a GPS? You can program some data before you get there.

You might want to add some more detail about your trip. Are flying in? Are you going to have breakfast in your room? Do you have a backpack so you can bring a picnic lunch and drinks and snacks in the park? ( you can bring anything but alcohol and glass containers)

I have to ask the obvious question.....................why the long visit to the area but only 1 day in the parks?

To make the best of your 1 day visit I strongly suggest you arrive at the turnstile at least 30-40 minutes before the park opens. Get a touring plan as well. Touringplans.com has great information and the cost is low. Since your tickets alone are going to cost 600 plus dollars, it is a small price to pay.

I hope this helps. Have a good time with your friends!

Which day will you be there and which parks do you want to see?

Do you have a choice of days?

For stores, if you go down I4 one exit to FL535 / vineland Rd, there is a Walmart and Publix near the T with irlo Bronson Parkway. Liquour stores are around there too. Around the intersection and down Irlo Bronson you will find the full selection of restaraunts too.

A Cab to the parks will cost about $60 total there and back to Westgatelakes. A shuttle will cost about $12-15per person. I'd find a cheap rental, keep in mind this will be harder unless the driver is 25yo. As PP said this all depends on what your situtation getting to orlando. Airport may be the spot to rent, but how will you get there? Also parking at the parks will be $15 for a day even if you move your car, the first lots pass at say Epcot will be good at DHS too.

I would go to the park that opens earliest and leave from the park open latest to maximize things. Fantasmic may not be a great night show to see, since it requires you be around the areana while Illumination or Wishes will let you walk around until just before the show. I'd choose 2 parks. In my opinion I'd make it AK and Epcot but maybe MK, people recognize that one and associate it with WDW if they haven't been. Like I said start with what opens early and finish with what closes late. I would NOT try for all four. And try to get fast passes for a few rides, but this will be hard if you are leaving for another park later. Also skip the nastagic rides you loved when you were 6 and aim for the rides you liked when you were 16.
