We are checking in June 4th. We are going to MK on June 5th. We are planning to check out some of the resorts on the 6th before heading over to the port.

What did you guys have in mind for the meet-up? My sister and I are both bringing our daughters, so we might not able to do much other than pop in and say "hi"....

We were thinking just maybe meeting at Animal Kingdom Lodge seeing as most of us are staying there. Don't they have a new water play area for kids? Or my wife and I were thinking Monday would be a short day at Animal Kingdom that we could all maybe meet for dinner or something.

Here is our schedule

Fly in the 3rd
Magic Kingdom on the 4th
Disney Hollywood Studios on the 5th
Animal Kingdom on the 6th
Pick up the Disney Cruise line bus on the 7th to the Dream :0)

Just letting everyone know we are staying at AKL Jambo club level pre cruise and SSR post cruise. In case we should bump into any of you.

We are too! This is our first stay at AKL. I've been there and it's lovely and cannot wait. Our home resort is BLT but really looking forward to trying AKL. We're there through the 17th. When are you there? I'm sure we'll see you since we're Jambo Club Level too

Pretty awesome that so many are staying at AKL pre-cruise. We should definately plan a quick meet-up just to say hi even if its 15 minutes or so. Anyone can come by even if you're not staying at AKLV.

Why don't we shoot for Monday, 6/6 at 5:00PM in the room just off the Jambo House lobby with the african artwork in it. It has nice comfortable furniture in it plus a savana viewing area just outside the doors. It's the room/area next to the check-in desk. Some guests refer to it as the presentation room. Does this work for everybody? Meet somewhere else? Different time? Here's a photo of the room.

We are actually staying post cruise not pre cruise. Anyone else staying at AKL afterward?

The last cruise we did we did a dinner the night before to meet those that could. However the best meet and greet was we met in the lounge at a specific time, I believe it was 3:45 or something like that since that's when you need to be onboard by and we had time to socialize and update last minute room changes for the FE participants before the emergency drill. Just a thought, since it worked so well last time.

I signed us all up for parasailing on CC. I saw some photos on AllEars that has me rethinking that plan. I have arthritis and have had both knees replaced so they are very weak with regards to climbing. The pic I saw has people going up and down a ladder to get into the boat. Does anyone have experience with this and could confirm that there are ladders and not steps? I will post on the regular board if no one has any info for me. TIA!!!

We did the bottom fishing last trip and I was surprised at the ladder to get into the boat too and it was a little scary, but it's really not that strenuous and they do try to help. There are plenty of areas to hold onto and most of it will depend up on whether the tide is in or out. When we got on the boat the tide was out and it was a lot of steps down, but on the way back, the tide came in and it made a huge difference. I would call and talk to guest services and express your concern and see if they other arrangements for you if you feel it's too difficult. They won't want a guest getting hurt and they may have other loading areas for those needing extra assistance. Hope it all works out for you.

Either meet plan sounds good to me. We would be willing to go to AKL. The last cruise we went on, we as well, met onboard on the first day at a designated place.

I imagine that's what happened with ours. I booked through a travel agent, so they probably went to her first.

Thank you! I'm excited to be here finally.

Yes, my husband confirmed that our travel agent has our cruise docs and our WDW docs should show up soon as well. We're going to wait until later next week to pick them up.
