6/4/09 Wonder 3 Night

Hello all! We just booked this cruise yesterday! We had a Nov. cruise booked, but switched it as flights in Nov. were expensive, and we were going to be at WDW anyway in June.

It is myself, DH, DD (age 11), DS (age 11) and DNiece (age 11). I.e. lots of 11-year olds!

We booked Comfort Suites in Nassau, but only get 4 entries into Atlantis and we have 5 people! Let me know if anyone wants to "share" another room! I know it is a small thread, but hopefully more folks will join as we get closer!

Cabins 6016 and 6018, connecting. Late dining (bummer), on the waitlist for main dining....:cool1:

MAGGIE, oh wow, yeah lets talk about this.. I am up for it.. lets what we can work out :o)

This is subject to change..

I called to fine out what was playing while we were on our cruise..

HSM 3
BOLT 3D
HANNAH MONTANA 3DCONCERT MOVIE
BEDTIME STORIES
CONFESSION OF A SHOPAHOLIC
JONAS BRO 3D CONCERT MOVIE
RACE TO WITCH MTN
HANNAH MONTANA MOVIE
EARTH DISNEY NATURE

Thanks Jenni! I haven't seen almost any of these movies. Okay I did see HSM3 but that's all. (And I call myself a Disney fan.) Of the movies listed, I would like to see: BOLT 3D, BEDTIME STORIES, RACE TO WITCH MOUNTAIN, or EARTH DISNEY NATURE. popcorn:: We'll see what I have time for. I wonder if they will show ony of these on the big screen on deck while you wath from teh swimming pool? Now that would be cool! :woohoo:

Anyone else? trobert? Time4disney? Magic4UsZ's?

Maggie, I updated the list with your information. :yay: Welcome aboard! pirate:

Cliff - I think we are just going to do one room with a FE. So while I will buy the gifts, let's just have my DS(11), DD(11) and DNiece(11) on the list. So the room is either 6016 or 6018, but not both!

Jenni- I just checked and the room at Comfort Suites is a total of $280. So it makes sense for a party of 4 (and I did rent one room). But for two it is still pretty pricey. I think if we had 3 or 4 people, this would be ideal! Last time we did this, it was really easy, quick check-in and a short walk over to Atlantis. We never even looked at the room! But this year with a party of 5, we are just not sure what to do with that last person.... Anyway, I'll keep checking the prices and post if it goes down for June 5. How many people "extra" do you have that would need a room?

We just have one extra... I was checking it out last night.

It is pricey, did you also count in the extra charges as well?

If we could find two more then it would be a great deal

Maggie,
I updated the FE list. :3dglasses Let me know if I got it right? :yay: In my enthusiasm, I can sometimes be quite an airhead.

FE's: Cliff, perfect, thanks! I'm working on some (hopefully) great gift ideas!

Comfort Suites: Jenni, I got our first room through Expedia, and it was a prepay room ($267), so I *think* there are no extra charges. But I agree, from the Comfort Suites web page it is confusing.

I looked today, and CS on Expedia is now $250. I wonder if the prices will continue to drop! Maybe I'll call and see if they will honor the new lower rate for my first room....

OK, so I called, and the rate for 1 adult/3 kids for June 5 at Expedia is now $236. They gave me the lower rate! So, for 4 people, this is now only $59 each, so a great deal. Still not that great for only 2.

I just checked what ships will be in port at Nassau when we are there - and wow, it's going to be a busy day! Carnival Destiny, Glory and Sensation will all be there in addition to the Wonder. The total burden on the port will be 12,200 people! The range that is normally there goes from 2500-13339 people, so our day is definitely on the high end!

So is this a good thing? :) A bad thing? Or just a thing? :snooty:
I guess I just figured there would be other ships in port while we were there. I would be kind of naive if I thought we would have the island all to ourselves. How many cruise ships can the Nassau harbor port hold? Does Disney have their "own" spot? Do more ships mean more problems, i.e. slower re-boarding through Bahamian customs, crowded excursions? I remember you have cruised before. What was your experience with something like this? Plus this got me thinking. I booked my Catamaran Sail & Reef Snorkeling through DCL. Are we the the only ones on this or do other ships share the same excursion? I never thought about that before?

It's good and bad, I guess it depends on how you look at it! It is fun to see other ships, and compare the ships and the people on them. But it means everything like shops, restaurants, taxis, can be more crowded. If you are taking an excursion through Disney, you shouldn't be impacted at all. But if you are doing an excursion on your own, you might notice the crowds.

So DD's and Dniece have decided that they want to make shirts for Pirate nights.. Anyone got any ideas?

We are still doing the tie die shirts.. but they also want to make these shirts...

a searching I shall go.. if anyone finds anything let me know.

Thanks!

Hi Everyone!

I wasn't going to get autographs but after seeing all the great pictures, I'm bringing at least one photo mat for signatures.

Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend!

Thanks Belynda,

I saw this post today and it got me thinking (again) about bringing a photo matte for autographs. Plus there was another post about photo packages from Shutters.

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2158853

Plus there was also another post about FE gift ideas.

Plus . . . okay I'm out of pluses. :teacher:

Hi Jenni,

I can't find the thread, but a teen named Amanda posted a picture of her clever and cute pirate shirt. In decal letters it said "Pirate Amanda". "Pirate" was just under the neckline, then there was some kind of sequined, Beadazzled looking emblem (can't remember if it was Mickey or a skull) underneath the word pirate and then underneath the emblem was her name. The t-shirt had capped sleeves which gave it a more girly look. She was wearing a bandanna and hoop earrings and looked very piratey in a teen sort of way. :)

I think in that same thread there was a pic of a man wearing a black tee. His shirt said "This is my Pirate shirt". This is the pirate attire my DH would wear. :rotfl:

If I find the thread, I'll post it because it had great pics of people in various degrees of pirate wear from the simple white t, jeans and bandanna to full on "I'm an extra in the Pirates of the Caribbean movie."

Cliff,

I have a confession to make. I chickened out of the Nassau snorkeling excursion and changed it to the Sea and See Tour which I don't think was listed in March. Unlike my DH and DD, I am not the best swimmer. I am extremely comfortable in water if I can touch the bottom with my toes and still have my head above the water. Considering that I am only 5 feet tall that does limit me. :lmao: Also, I don't think my DD would touch, let alone, put the snorkeling thinguhmabob in her mouth because someone else used it, so she wouldn't be completely thrilled with this excursion. I think we are all better off doing something else.

Okay, so my memory is a little bad. She's Pirate Mandy with no capped sleeves.

It will be interesting to see how many people dress up at our cruise.

I think I have an idea:smickey:

If hey want to jewel it up they can.. it cost the same as if I was going to buy them a black shirt anyways, and the plus it already has the design on there.

Anyone making their own Fish extender?
I am thinking I am going to take a canvas bag and put it up... I have found some cute graphics that we can iron on it ...

I am not a crafty person, the simpler the better is my motto.
