Just back from a glorious 4 days at the GF and 3 days on the Disney Wonder..
Day 1 -
Got on the plane in Providence and arrived a mere 2 hours and 50 minutes later to Orlando... Hopped on a DCL bus and was hanging out at the concierge by 12:30pm sipping lemonade... Took pictures of our rooms at the GF, and rushed off to Epcot to see our friend Amy at the Tapestry of Dreams parade at 6:15 (stopped at Ice Station Cool for some yummy Beverly on the way... ack!)... Parade was canceled due to excessive wind! What a bummer.... Ate at Mitsukoshi's in Japan and then caught IllumiNations... took the monorail back to the GF... sleep!
Day 2 -
Magic Kingdom!! Walked up Main Street USA and took in the sights... Took the gratuitous castle photo (one from every trip, at LEAST).. Ran to Pirates of the Caribbean... Got FastPass for BTMRR, and ate at Pecos Bill Cafe... went on BTMRR and then over to Haunted Mansion... Walked through Fantasy Land and met up with my friends from College who were vacationing in WDW in the Arcade at SpaceMtn.... GOt my bum whooped in Air Hockey, and then went on Space Mtn... better than I always remember! Cut over to Aloha Isle for a Pineapple SPear... and then went back to the GF to rest and get ready for Hoop Dee Doo Revue! My brother in law got picked to play the Indian in the show.... "PLease Davy!! Don't DIE!!" Hilarious. Back to the new GF pool, which technically is closed after 8pm, so we had it all to ourselves!
Day 3.... Tuesday... Took DVC Member Tour at the Boardwalk!! Walked a LOT that day, soaked up some sun at Stormalong Bay before our dinner reservations at the Yachtsman Steakhouse... Dinner was FABULOUS... and of course, being on Discovery Magic meant we could get whatever we wanted... so Filet and Lobster it was!
Went to JellyRolls that night to meet with our CM friend Amy, and stayed there until well after midnight... Got a private bus ride back to the GF when an empty bus pulled up and took us right there.... Good times!
Day 4... CM friend Amy came to see us at the GF, rented the MickeySprites and cruised around 7 Seas Lagoon! Had lunch at the GF Cafe, and did some shopping... picked up the service for 6 Mickey Silverware set..
For my new house! YAY!
MGM after that - went on Tower of Terror...2x in a row, got a little woozy after that, and that wrecked any chance of me using my FP for RnRCoaster, since I was afraid I was going to boot... (when did I get old and have motion sickness? This is new....) ... went straight from MGM to Downtown Disney and we ate dinner at Wolfgang Pucks, upstairs.... Food was good, service was ok, got the wrong dessert, but then they fixed it and gave us our creme brulee... Hubby started coming down with bronchitis. Not fun.
Day 5.... Get on the DCL bus and rose to the Disney Wonder!
We were on the ship by 12:30, took pictures, had lunch, and then we ran upstairs to the Roy O. Disney Suite to check out the digs!! UNBELIEVABLE!! Went to the sail away party , drank pina coladas, and got some more sun..... Dinner at Palos that night, and then to catch the end of Barrel of Laughs show.... bed came early as we had a long day...
Day 6 -Nassau! Discover Atlantis was fun, and also donated about $23 to the Atlantis Casino... Not too bad... got my hair braided for $30... talked the woman down from $90. Sheesh, who the heck falls for paying $90 for getting hair braided?? I was shocked at how many people were just handing the $$ over.
Silly. Played BINGO!! My BIL won $56.. Dinner at Tritons that night... Yum.
Day 7 - Castaway Cay... can't beat a private island... got some sun, didn't burn like last year, went snorkeling, and took a banana boat ride... (which I recommend to EVERYONE to do -- Best $14 to spend on the DCL!! hehe... Enjoyed Cookies BBQ very very much, and went for a swim before getting back on the Ship at 2:30 to shower and get the salt out of my hair... Dressed up for ANimators Palate and Went back to the room to put luggage out by 11pm... Caught Barrel of Laughs show, along with the tail end of the 50s and 60s dance... got sad that I had to go home......
Day 8 - Home. Woke up hungover from the merlot the previous night at AP ... whoops. Got over that at breakfast with some ginger ale.... got on the bus and left...
