Cast Members: Julie 36, John 34, Anastasia 9, and Tara 18 mo.
Day 3 is our day at sea. Tara woke up very early thanks to falling asleep at flounders at 8pm. But, thats okay because we got a nice and early start to our day. We had all highlighted the activities we wanted to do, but realized as they day progressed we just kind of winged it and that worked out better. We were so busy throughout the day that we got ourselves pretty tired out! These days at sea arent as relaxing as I had imagined, especially with our 18 mo. old!
We ate breakfast at Topsiders, and then headed over to the family trivia game. We did pretty good, just one question away from winning our medal. As soon as that ended we rushed over to play family bingo and Anastasia met up with her friend Mary and her parents joined us in a Bingo game. We really liked their family, from San Diego. Of course we did not win anything, not even any raffle prizes. This should have been my clue to stop while I was ahead, but I became addicted to the jackpot Bingo for some reason. I never play bingo at home, but I had the Bingo bug big time. At $35.00 for each game it really adds up. But its hard to stop when youve invested so much into the jackpot. I really felt the money shouldve gone to me because I played nearly every session and invested so much! The final jackpot reached over $8,000, and some nice elderly lady won it! I was happy for her--she seemed really excited.
After the Bingo game Anastasia and Mary headed off to Mr. Toads wild race, and John and I took Tara to the fountain area in Mickeys pool. Tara loved that area, but there were so many older kids in there she was scared and stayed on my lap. Finally a CM asked all the big kids to leave the area because it was reserved specifically for babies and toddlers who were not potty trained. We all thanked him, and after all the rowdies left, Tara had a blast. There were only 2 other babies in there with her. It was great!
John and Anastasia then headed off to see Holes and Tara and I went for a nap. We awoke from our nap and the movie was over, so John took over watching Tara and I went to the adult pool. Oh, how sweet it was. I enjoyed a Pina Colada in the spa, sprawled out on a chassis, and enjoyed the silence. Except the occasional loud teen stomping his feet as he roamed the ship! Ugh! Honestly, the children on the ship were VERY well behaved. Some of the adults I encountered acted more juvenile than their children, and the teenager boys were the most annoying. Anastasia and I slipped out a couple of evenings to catch the late show and those teenage boys were so rowdy and obnoxious some mother finally stood up and yelled Be Quiet! They were the ones riding the elevators, running in the hallways, yelling everywhere they went. But the worst was some parents we met while checking Tara into Flounders. They actually dropped their little boy with such a stinking poopy diaper that I was getting nauseated! I'm sorry, but you just don't drop off your kid like that. Have the common decency to change him first. If not for his own comfort, than for those who are nice enough to watch him so you can have a nice evening. Okay, off my soapbox now
Before I realized it was 4pm and time for Anastasias hair braiding appt. It only took one hour, and it looked awesome! I was very pleased, and so was she. She still has them in 10 days later, and they look the same as they did the first day. We then head off to get ready for formal night and the show. The show tonight is Hercules, and I heard from the Disboards that Hades was too scary for little ones. I had reservations for Flounders for Tara at 6pm so we could have a show and formal dinner just with Anastasia. Again, she cried like crazy and they said she slept the whole time again. I don't think she liked it there, but it seemed like an excellent place. She's just a momma's girl. Hercules was excellent, and Hades sidekicks were hilarious. Anastasia still re-enacts some parts of the show for us, and we die laughing every time!
I loved our rotation. It put us in Lumieres for both Formal and semi-formal nights, which the theme was fitting for the attire. The lines for pictures were way too long, so we decided to have them taken after dinner. Mistake! We were way too full and bloated and looked extremely tired in our pictures. Oh well. Thursday will be semi-formal night and we can try it again, but before dinner this time.
We then picked up Tara and headed off to bed. Tonights towel animal was a stingray with Johns sunglasses. Cute! Perfect considering tomorrow we are in Grand Cayman!
