6:20pm BOG during a party day

I just snagged a 6:20pm BOG dinner ADR for Friday night (thanks touring plans reservation finder!) and got a message when booking that this was a MVMCP night and tickets for the party are needed to be in the park. Since that starts at 7pm, are we going to have an issues with our 6:20 reservation since we'll be done AFTER 7pm? (I assume that's why it gave me the message)

anyone know? I assume we'll just have to high tail it out when done.

I'm sorry, you may be out of luck. I just looked at the web page for the restaurant, and it denotes reservations starting at 6:20 or later as "special ticketed event." If you are not attending the party, you'd need a reservation time no later than 6:15. It's a fine line, but it seems to be a pretty definitive one.

If you would have been allowed to have the reservation without party tickets, you wouldn't have gotten the warning.

The last reservation time you can get without needing party tickets is 6:15. Anything 6:20 and later will require tickets. The reason for the earlier cutoff time is to try to get as many people without tickets out of the park as they can.

As said earlier, earlier check-in won't get you in the door.

Sorry, I should have clarified - it DID let me make the reservation and is confirmed for 6:20pm.

Yes. It will let you make an ADR during party hours. The ADR system does not in any way check for park tickets or special event tickets, ever.

However, at BOG you will not be seated for a 6:20 ADR without a party wristband.

Many people don't buy party tickets until well after making dinner reservations. The fact that you can MAKE the reservation doesn't mean that you can attend the reservation without party tickets....hence, the warning.

No clarification needed. You only need to know one thing:

If you make a reservation for 6:20pm or after on a party night, you absolutely, positively need a party ticket to attend the reservation.

There is no loophole around it.

I just called disney dining to try and change it, and the CM told me I'd be fine to keep it and we'd just have to leave when we're done eating. I guess we'll just show up and see what happens or maybe I'll call back and see if another CM gives me the same answer. :)

Never, never, never trust a phone cast member. Worst source of information ever.

Trusting that particular cast member will get you charged a $10 no-show fee for everyone in your party.

Poop. Now I'm tempted to just buy party tickets so we can stay in the park for this and then mosey our way around. It's our travel day so we'll all have been up since the crack of dawn and I just have no idea how my girls (8 and 6) will be faring by that time. I need someone to make this decision for me! lol The last time we were at Disney my youngest slept through the whole meal and she's dying to experience it this time.

haha....It is to our family....It is our new absolute favorite restaurant....we couldn't get a BOG reservation during normal hours on any of our other park days.....so we are going to TWO MVMC parties....:sad2:...

I agree with this sentiment as we had a bad experience with CM assistance with booking fastpasses. To cut a long story short, they were making things up as they went along because they clearly didn't know the answer to my queries. It turns out what they told me was rubbish. I wouldn't trust them again.

CMs are in a call center. They aren't necessarily in FLorida and might never have been to Florida, let alone WDW. They do NOT know how things are done, even though they should. This was true about 3 years ago. It's NOT true now.

I take it you're driving? Can't the kids sleep in the car a bit?

Party tickets are expensive, and they are worth making sure you're awake for it. So if you're going to do it, make the trip so that everyone is happy for it.

That said, to go to a party just to eat for the first while of it…not the best use of a party *to me*.

On the other hand, unless it's drastically changed you can enter MK at 4pm with your party tickets, so you can get some fun time in before the meal, get there on the early side, have your meal, and then enjoy the party.

Ze plot thickens! Email response from Disney Guest Services - are they similarly clueless?

"Thank you for contacting the Walt Disney World® Resort.

We sincerely understand your concern. Please be assured that you are welcome to keep your reservation at Be Our Guest Restaurant at 6:20 PM without having admission ticket for the party. Since your reservation is prior to the actual event, you are not required to purchase additional tickets, however, you will be asked to exit the park after you are done with your meal.

If you have questions or need further assistance, feel free to contact us.

I would trust what is said here before anything form a CM of any kind outside the parks. You aren't going to get around this one. They are strict on this. You WON'T be seated without party tickets. I would make plans NOW to either find someplace else to eat or buy party tickets.

ETA: What they said in the email USED to be the policy. They are likely not aware it has changed. The disclaimer when you booked is correct.

- You already got your answer from Disney in bold above ^.
- You need party tickets to use this reservation.
- If you are not going to party you need to cancel.
- No need to make calls or email ... your reservation stated ADR requirements.
- They started these new time frames a couple years ago when folks were using a late ADR as a way to see the parade on their way out.
- Very clear on the website and they will adhere to this.
- You must be booked by 6:15.
- PS Email is worthless. In park and restaurant CMs have final say.
