Has anyone done the StingRay Swim and Dolphin Swim? I want to do both (1 in each port) is the one though DCL or ShoreTrips better? I'm nervous about being able to get from and to the ship alone since it will just be my son (14 yr old) and I. Anyone wanting to go along with us?

We are doing the Turtle Farm
But I am sure some are going to do the two you want to go on plus if you book with DCL, you go with groups from DCL, unless things have changed which I don't think they have.

We are looking at Nachi Cocum in Cozumel. Looks so relaxing and gets great reviews. Other choice is the Dolphin swim at Chankanaab National Park. I think in Key West we're renting Electric Cars (DH's dad was staioned there and we want to explore) on our own (much cheaper than DCL). In GC doing the Pirate with everyone. Are we all still going for the 9ish Pirate?

Once I get the the countdown tag how do I post it on the disboard? Sorry, I don't understand since I am new to all of this... I really don't understand any of it yet...

You need 10 posts, so you can just post "Hi" 5 times here and you'll be good. Then copy the countdown and go to User CP in the upper left corner. Click edit signature and paste it. You can also copy the logo for our cruise (see my signature) and paste it too. Welcome!

Cool! The one excursion that goes on the StingRay Swim also does the Turtle Farm and a visit to "Hell" that is the one that I am hoping to get booked.

Dolphin swim at Chankanaab National Park is the one that we are doing. Maybe we can book it together. I think in Key West we're renting Electric Cars also, we are just going to explore on our own there also...cheap and feel safe doing that there.

To everyone struggling with layoffs . . . . hang in, this sure sucks. Never seen anything like it . . .

Welcome Diane! don't worry about traveling alone with your son. This will be my dd and my 3rd Disney cruise! I've always felt safe, even when doing shore excursions on our own. We just take the normal precautions and stay in well-traveled areas. We're never out alone at night, of course. And its easy on the ship - I've never been uncomfortable - even had Palo brunch by myself twice. So quiet
We are doing the Royal Dolphin Swim in Chankanaab - is fabulous, I'm sure your son would love it. We booked it directly (for noon I think). In Grand Cayman I think we are going to do a Nativeways' snorkel, stingray, beach thingy which I've been too busy to book, and we're still arguing about key west!

for any single parents traveling on this cruise, I'd love to meet for a drink or coffee or something (assuming my dd likes Ocean Quest and meets some friends- otherwise, it will be a loooong cruise if you know what I mean).

Also, (then I'll stop, I promise) for parents with tweens who will be going to ocean quest if the kids want to pm each other before hand, I'm in. I think my dd would like to "know" other kids ahead of time.

As for not getting upgraded due to only having 3 people in a cabin. Our last cruise we were upgraded (to cat11) & there is only 3 of us. Not much of an upgrade, but atleast it was something

We have been on 2 other cruises & have NEVER did Palo. We were thinking of doing brunch this time, but are still on the fence about it.

We booked a CAT 12 with 3 people before and got a Cat 11
So don't be surprised if it happens .... The odds are looking in your favor.

our cruise documents came today. And we are sending out our passport applications tomorrow for the kids (DH and I have ours already). Nothing like booking a cruise at the last minute so to speak. I think we're ok. Passport site says they're processing in 4 weeks.

So I am being naughty and not getting passports for the kiddos!!!!! Yes I know the risks but I am ok with that

Yep- I'm doing that time for the Pirate thing.

We are doing that one, I did book it through Dolphin Discovery- it was about half the price of DCL. We have a 1pm time for the Dolphin encounter- my DD is too young to do any of the other ones. I think we're going to wing it in Key West too- electric cars or the trolley.

That's so crazy that they're are so many booked. LOL Just think there are lots of others that aren't even on the boards that booked this.

You think I can lose about 60 pounds before the cruise. LOL I am definately trying- I just started my swim fit class tonight- it's 2 nights a week at the YMCA. I've just been so stressed recently about my job, and my dad passed away in late October and I've gained about 8 pounds since then- it's just been alot to deal with. At least now- I should be OK about the job, I just need to stop eating so much junk.

I just hope the kids take a decent picture. They are at the stage where they do that frozen fake smile (look like a chipmunk)!

Oh thank you for posting this. I thought my kids were the only ones at the stage with that chipmunk look.
