What time is everyone planning on getting to the port? I want to try to be there as soon as they open, we are staying at Radisson at the Port on Friday night, and I already made our shuttle arrangements for 10am.:goodvibes It would be cool if alot of us are there early and could hang out.

I am not quite sure yet. I haven't decided if I want to use a car service or DCL. I know DCL gets you there a little later. Last time we had the limo pick us up at 9:00 AM and we got to the port around 10:00. Zane did get a little bored waiting.

Hey, what does everyone think of a Dis-meet on the first day?

Sounds good to me....Last cruise I want to say we met around 3:00 in the Promenade lounge ( I think that's where)....It was very nice meeting everyone the 1st day then the rest of the week I felt like I was always running into friends. We also had lunch together on a sea day and several of us went to the spring break party together for the free jello shots :thumbsup2 I am not sure if they even have this anymore.

We did an adult Cove Cafe Dis-meet on the second sea day of our last cruise-it was very nice- it was an Eastern so it was on Monday. I have not been to the High Tea- only brunch, which DH did not care for- he just didn't want to dress up again. I loved it though- he only liked the food. ;)

Even though last cruise Zane lived in the kids clubs I never made it here or to the adults only pool!

We are also doing this- Jordan has been in the same class 3 times, and refuses to jump off the side of the pool- so she cannot move up. :confused3 We start another Ymca class on March 2nd, at least we are members now- so it's cheaper. LOL

Zane has had 2 sets of lessons at the YMCA, a set at the Hospital, and private lessons at the YMCA and he still isn't a great swimmer :confused3 I guess he may just end up like his mama who is not a swimmer at all and is actually pretty :scared1: of water. Bad part about him is though he likes to jump off into the deep end!!! I did make great progress on our last cruise though. We did the Doubloon Pirate Ship in St.Thomas and once we got to the snorkel stop they said ok the 1st one in is bait and the last one in is just scared! Well guess who was the last one in....Yep it was me and he was right I was terrified. Zane still makes fun of me. But once I got in and realized I wasn't going to drown I actually enjoyed it but by then it was almost time to go  I did snorkel at Castaway Cay though and it was fun!! I am not booking any snorkel excursions this time thought because I won't have my sister who is a really good swimmer with me and I would be nervous going with just me and Zane. We may snorkel at Castaway Cay though.

We went ahead and booked DCL transfers. We will be coming from POFQ. Does anyone know what time they pickup?

I'm hoping that doesn't happen.;)

That sounds good(3pm in the Promenade Lounge) we met by the Mickey pool and it was crazy busy!!!

Her problem is that she won't jump in!! LOL I am a great swimmer- learned when I was about 4, DH can doggie paddle a little, he's not scared of the water(he'll jump off a diving board- just doggie paddle to the side)he just doesn't have the confidence in the water(and he was in the Navy:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: )I still don't know how he passed that test.:rotfl: :rotfl:

I know- he is funny!!:rotfl2:

Well, what a crazy few days its been! I was really wanting to save some money on this cruise so I asked DH if he would mind cat 12's if they became available. He said that wouldn't work because he gets seasick and needs a veranda to see the horizon and get fresh air. Here's the crazy part: how did he do his 2 active duty weeks on a ship??? He was in the Navy for 18 years! He once spent 2 weeks on an aircraft carrier and they were out to sea for several days. Granted most of his Navy career was reserve time, and his "ship" tours when he was full time Navy were spent with the marines on land (he was a Navy dentist). I know the junior officers quarters he shared with like 4 or 5 other guys didn't have a veranda!:rotfl2: So he said lets save the money and we both agreed that we should cancel the cruise (we already have another DCL cruise booked for July 2010). So I broke the news to DS and DD. They were both really looking forward to this cruise, so I decided to suggest the unthinkable :scared1: - a cruise with just me and the kiddos! With DH's blessing  I started stalking the DCL web site to see if I could spot any cat 12's for us!
I had found one 2 nights ago but it was gone by the time I tried to grab it! Then I got a great idea. I asked my sister, who is godmother to our kids if she would like to go with us, then emailed the TA to have her look for 2 cat 12's - one for DS and me and one for DD and her. I figured that finding one cat 12 for all 4 of us was going to be impossible, and since the 12 had popped up before, I just knew there had to be some out there! So the TA got busy looking today and I did the same, said a few prayers and lo and behold around 2pm today, a cat 12 popped up when I was on the site! I emailed her right away asking her to "grab it" and she came back with 2 cat 12 rooms for us! My sister has been on numerous WDW vacations with us, esp when our kids were young, and now her husband has the Disney bug (they just got back from a WDW vacation in Jan). So now he's joining us too! :cool1: This will be their first Disney cruise!
So here's our new cast:
Me: DW - Taina
DD: Kaitlyn (age 13 - almost 14 by cruise)
DS: Ben (age 12 by cruise)
Sister - Beatrice
BIL - Stephen
We got those unbelievably great rates :yay: so if anyone needs to save some money, those cat 12's are out there! Just keep looking (constantly) and get your TA to do the same (I used DU - they have been awesome!!! PM me if you want her name - not sure if we are allowed to reference specific TA's on this board) And here's the best part: 2 cat 12's for 5 people are costing us almost $1000 less than 1 cat 6 for 4 people at the military rate!:woohoo:

We are driving down from Atlanta at least 1,maybe 2 days early to go to Kennedy. We haven't booked the Radisson yet. Someone suggested another hotel with a bunk room for the kids. Can't remember which one. Regardless, we will be at the port by 10am to be one of the 1st groups!

I defiantely think we are doing the trolley or conch train as well, on our own, because I also want to be able to get on/off as much as we want. I want to do the parasailing too, but DH and DD won't/can't. LOL
I think we are looking at the Trolley tour too in Key West. My FIL was stationed there in the Navy, so DH wants to try to take a cab to that area too (if we can).

I love to snorkel, but DH isn't a good swimmer at all. THe kids have never done it, but I'm thinking of either booking this at CC or at the GC.

Is anyone doing the Tulum Ruins in Cozumel? My parents took my brother and me in the 80's, and it was fascinating. I think my trio would be very interested, but it is a LONG excursion and the day of the Pirate Party. Don't want them to be too tired to participate in the fun that night!

What is everyone choosing for the Grand Caymans? Beach? My kids would NOT like Stingrays (freak them out), so that is a no go. Any suggestions?

I was one of the original DISigners for t-shirts, magnets, etc on the DISign board (back in the day). Do we want a logo for our cruise to make magnets and put in our signatures? Any ideas of what you'd want to call it? If anyone has an idea, I'd be happy to try to design a logo.

We are doing the Pirate ship excursion. It looks fun and has had good reviews.:thumbsup2

Y'all were here WAY, WAY before me. So come up with a name for the cruise or ideas for pics, and I'll design something. Maybe the magnets could be my gift to everyone for their doors for the FE! (plus ya know I'd have to get something else fun for the kiddos).
