DCL Day 3...Alone Time!
I hustled back to the room, changed into my swimsuit and hurried to the spa. There I was handed a glass of cucumber infused water and asked to wait for my therapist. Within a few moments she was leading me back to a private suite. We walked through the suite which had two treatment tables (and was very lovely indeed). There were flowers and petals strewn about the room along with colored pieces of glass and stones placed in pleasing arrangements.
We walked through the suite and out on to a private veranda. If the suite was lovely, the veranda was STUNNINGLY AMAZING! There was a double bed, a whirlpool for two, an alfresco shower and then there was the view. Miles and miles of open ocean....
The first thing I did was sit down on the double bed (really a lounger, but the size of a double bed with comfy pillows). I was given a robe and told to get comfy. When the therapist came back, she directed me to the bed lounger. I was to sit on the edge and she would wash my feet for me. Ahhh, it was a very relaxing foot cleansing with a mini foot massage thrown in.
I was then asked to pick which treatment I would like to receive. I chose a facial and scalp massage. While she was getting that ready in the inner suite, I would be soaking in the whirlpool tub, watching the ocean and the sky. She gave me my choice of bath salts, added my chosen salts to the water, poured me a glass of lemon infused water and left the rest of the pitcher on the edge of the tub in case I wanted a refill during my soak. She then exited the verandah and told me she would be back in a half an hour. Soaking in hot water (not too hot though) while sipping cool infused water and watching the ocean waves dance by...I was totally blissed out.
Toasting myself and the beauty of my surroundings.
As I laid there, I was totally relaxed by the time she knocked and asked me to make my way inside. After wrapping up in the comfy robe, I headed back in and she left the room again so that I could slide down under the warmed sheets (the table was slightly heated) of the treatment table.
She then proceeded to give me a very relaxing facial followed by an even more relaxing neck, shoulder and scalp massage with frangapani scalp treatment. She was so good that I almost fell asleep while enjoying the treatments. Almost...I didn't want to miss the chance to soak up such a relaxed feeling by snoozing away the time.
I think that treatment lasted about an hour (I wasn't wearing my watch). Upon completion, she told me to step outside and rinse off under the outdoor shower and then lay down on the outdoor lounge bed. I did so and she gave me more than enough time to get the robe back on and settle down on to the lounger. She then rolled in a tea tray and served me the tea of my choice.
While the tea was steeping, she told me to lay back and relax and that she would be bringing me a fresh tray of fruit. Within a few minutes she brought the fresh fruit. There were skewers with pineapple, grapes, strawberries and melons. There were also some very delicious chocolate covered strawberries. Oh the joy!

I was once again totally blissed out.
I had another forty five minutes of time to relax, zone out and just watch the waves and clouds roll by. As I was laying there, I must have fallen asleep and when I woke up, there was a very strong wind whipping across the front of the enclosed veranda (although the front was thrown totally open, the front sides were encased in glass). It got so strong that I got up and closed the sliding glass across the open front area as well. Even the approach of what seemed like a hurricane force storm (I knew it wasn't, but it sure sounded VERY loud and was starting to look VERY rough as far as the waves...although I didn't feel a change in the motion of the ship at all) I was still totally relaxed and watched the clouds go from puffy white to light gray to a deep shade of charcoal. She brought me back into the treatment room, asked me if I wanted to go over the products used (when I said I was not interested, she didn't push at all) and had me sign the receipt.
She then led me back to the locker room where I quickly showered using the good Elemis conditioner and shampoo again. I also stayed in the locker room blow drying my hair instead of heading back to our room to do it. I was still enjoying my me time and trying to draw it out as long as possible.
When I finally emerged from the spa, I was feeling very happy and completely relaxed. Little did I know that my happiness and relaxed state of mind would come to an abrupt halt upon my return to our stateroom.
Why? Well...that's for the next installment.

I don't want to taint such a beautiful spa experience by sharing my annoyance and upset in the same post. I will leave you with one hint. It was Disney that did the upsetting.
