We're going to book too. Do you think that if we do go to Nassau that it will be on Thursday, or could we go on Wednesday? I was wondering if I should just book both days just in case June 17 & 18th). We'd be interested in sharing a cab/van too.

I think they need that sea day to get there in time. I think it would be cutting it too close without the sea day but I am no sailor!

Awesome - we can all meet and then go get rides together and get as many in each vehicle (I know they have large vans) as we can and follow one another over and get there at the same time...

Soccer and baseball ( if no rain- we have had rain out after rain out here) and whole family over to friends for dinner Sat. night.

Boy do I hope the launch goes off as scheduled. We arrive in Titusville at the Hampton Inn (free room from Honors points) around 11 pm Friday. DW and DSIL have relatives in Titusville right on US 1 directly across the Indian from the Cape. We may get to have coffee by their pool and watch the launch. Then off to get some last minute supplies before the port. Hope everyone has a good weekend. I hope everyone with a Cat 12 gets a good upgrade, we have an SPH and hope we get an upgrade too (I booked this in January of '08 so I got the SPH)

SPH's are so great for the money!! I have one for next year on hold for Disney Europe cruise. It was hard to get!!LOL

We had a SPH room last summer and have one booked for the TransAtlantic next year. I kept checking for one to open for this cruise. I would have switched when I had an 11 booked but doubt I will switch it now if it opens for $900 extra. That is actually what I was checking for when I saw the CAT 12's open up. So now I hope you get upgraded and I get your SPH room!

DH took the girls to a Father Daughter Dance on base tonight. I just wanted to share some photos from before they left. I guess this a preview of our family on Formal...this is exactly what the three of them will look like.

We will also go th Atlantis via the Comfort Suites. My mom will just gamble, will she need a wrist band to sit by the pool? We ill have 1 extra-possibly 2 if she does not nee one.

I can't believe the shuttle is that day--we will miss it, being at AKL-maybe we can see it from there. We have a van picking us up around 10 to head to the port. My older son does not like geting there early and waiting.

She wore it alost exactly like that at her Father/Daughter dance in Feb. Do you make reservations ahead for the salon or when you board? Might be a fun girl thing to do!

What's everyone doing this weekend?

Nothing special. Saturday is my Sam's Club day...looking for the Shark steam mop. Sunday ~ lunch & shopping w/Jayde & some co-workers.

Was hoping to get Jayde's ultrasound results back but no such luck. She is in a little more pain (hurts to move too much or sit up straight) & it is traveling. I am thinking she is possibly passing stones. Monday can't get here soon enough!

I did the girls hair. It is funny every time I do their hair like that on formal night everyone always asks if I got it done at the salon. Unfortunatly they do not let kids get their hair done on board. They say it is an adult only area. I can understand that but it would be so nice for the girls to be able to get their hair done.

If you bring a bunch of bobbie pins and a rubber band I can do your DD's hair in about 20 mins. I actually would probably have enough bobby pins with me...I never leave home without them...LOL

Me on the other hand, I wear my hair in a pony tail every day!

First of all, Stephanie the girls are adorable!!! But, ladies, come on, what about DH??? Hello, he's HOT!: Nothing like a man in a dress uniform. I prefer that over a Tux. My Dad is retired USN and I adored his dress whites and the shiny, shiny patent shoes.

As far as Atlantis, NO you do not need a wrist band to SIT by the pool as long as you are "cool" about it. The wrist bands are checked, however, at all of the slides and water rides. We spent a week at the Atlantis Harborside resort (the timeshare condos owned by the Atlantis) two summers ago. That was the infamous trip in which the airline that will not be named (ok, it was Spirit, and I will NEVER fly them again) sent 2 of our 3 bags (MINE!) to HAITI and not NASSAU! I had to wear DD's (girl sized 14) tee shirts for 2 days and go buy super- overpriced things for which they never reimbursed me.

Mental note to all going to the Atlantis--- it is one of the MOST expensive places I've ever been to as far as resorts are concerned. Food by the pools is similar to what you'd pay at a Ritz -- $15 hamburgers, $8 hot dogs, $3.50 for a small Gatorade...you get the idea. Sunscreen was (2 years ago) $29 (yes, that is twenty nine US dollars) and Aloe was similar. A tee shirt starts at $25 or $30.

So for those going over I would recommend being prepared with bottled water and pre-packaged snacks if you have it with you, perhaps a soft sided cooler of uncrustables (from Room Service and while I don't advocate bringing any fresh produce into a country -- and it may be illegal to do so -- PACKAGED products are ok)..

I also travel with those little "flavor sticks" of crystal lite for water and the water is fine to drink in the Bahamas. Another option, after you negotiate a flat rate with the driver, is to have him stop at a 7-11 type gas station on the way (yes, you will pass them) and have one person run in and get some juice/snacks (you can pay in USD)

I'm just saying "be prepared" or you can easily drop big bucks on food & juices all day.

PS- if our itinerary is changed to Nassau, we can't get there for Wednesday from GC. It is too many nautical miles - the only day would be Thursday.

6 WEEKS FROM TODAY!!!!!

In 6 weeks from today I will be on my screen porch, with my cappucino, just having (hopefully) watched the shuttle launch, waiting for DD to wake up and doing the last minute things to close down my house before driving to Port Canaveral!! Yippee!!!
