Hey all!
We are a family of 6, 3 going to disney for the first time in May. We are trying to figure out our first day and it seems MK will be open until 11pm. Do you think it would be worth it to go if that only gives us about 5 hours? It will be May 7th. So, very excited!:cool1:

Will you do another day at MK, in addition to the first night? If yes, then Yes I think it is worth to go for the five hours, in addition to the other day you will be spending there. But if you will only spend one day's ticket for MK then I think you are better off saving it for a full day.

The first night we were there a couple years back, we went for about 4 hours. We arrived at our resort around 3, ate supper then went to MK. It allowed us to see a little of the light parade, fireworks at the castle and do about 4-5 attractions. We chose to do this so that the next day when we spent the whole day there, if we were tired before the parade and fireworks, we didn't feel so guilty leaving. It worked well for us. After Wishes, people head to the gates. We headed to Tomorrowland.

How long is your stay? If you have more than 4-5 park days, then that first day is really only costing you about $10 per person. That would be a big factor determining "worth" for me.

you guys are great!! We will be there from the 7-14th, but the last day we won't have time to do any parks due to the time we have to be at airport, so 6 full days. For $10 I think maybe we will get the extra day on our tickets, it may be worth it to see the fireworks and hit a few things! Thanks so much!

I would totally go into MK for 5 hours the first night. The crowds tend to thin out later in the evening and you can usually accomplish quite a bit in the late hours. I personally feel that BTMRR feels different at night and HM and POTC lines have different feel when it gets dark as well.

I would also go, we tend to go over to MK late every evening since DD likes the Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom and wants to collect the cards. We head over each evening and get her new sets and play while it is not super crowded. Plus we get a chance to ride a few things too.

Couple of other important things that might impact the decision is age of the people going, how you are getting to DW(ifIve been up since 2am to catchas early flight), are yall night or morning people, and what you have planned for the next moring?
