6:10pm Tiffin's reservation on a 6pm AK close day

I went back and forth about whether to post this in "restaurants" or here and I decided here was right because I am really considering my ride strategy in relation to this reservation. I love the idea of walking out through an empty AK park, which we have never done, but a 6:10 reservation will mean that hopping into any line right before park close, especially FOP, is risky or impossible, right? I'm torn about whether to keep this one - if you've had a "just after park close" reservation at Tiffin's or Tusker House, how far in advance of the reservation did you get in line for your last ride?

I'm hoping to do something like this on early 2022 trip. Interested to read some of these responses! I would love to score a Tiffin's ressie. Have you eaten there before?

We went when it first opened, maybe 4ish years ago? Have been to Nomad Lounge, which uses the same kitchen, many times and we love Nomad. Tiffin's is on the easier side to get at 60+ but then goes quickly after that, so you should be ok if you book it for the second or third day (or later) of your trip.

We thought about a late ADR at Tiffins, but the desire to get into the FoP line just before closing won out. So we made an early dinner ADR there instead. We didn’t want to have to get out of the FoP line in order to get to Tiffins on time!

Frequently when they allow ADRs after park close, they are intending on extending park hours for that day.

They have been regularly having ADRs available after closing at some restaurants since last year.
