My wife'll be in Orlando for 4 weeks this summer and I'll be joining them for 2 of them. We've been for the past 3 years but always opted for Disney (and the coast, pool, i-drive, etc...!)

This year, partially becuase of HP, and partially because we've seen EVERYTHING in the main Disney parks, so it's repetition from here on in, I'm thinking about going to Universal this time.

My first question, for other parents, is whether the kids will get a lot out of it? Are they still too young or at this point have they hit the right minimum age?

My second question, there's a great deal here at the moment of a 7 days (in 14 validity period) for US, IoA and CityWalk pass. Cost for the four of us will be about $470. However I'd like to go to a water park too - preferably Disney or Aquatica. What options are there for only adding water park visits to a holiday? Is there anything affordable?

Thanks, and I hope to be a US convert this year! I haven't been since the 80s when I went to California and had a great time lifting the A-Team van and being caught in a Cylon laserfight!

There is a good deal for kids to do. It will depend on your kids. My nephew didn't have a great time at that age but my niece did.

Since its a theme park it will probably also depend on how familiar they are with the characters. They liked Jimmy Neutron cuz it had Spongebob and it connected with them. A lot of the "ride the movies" are older movies so they may not have that connection with them.

But they should have a good time either way and be sure to spend some time at the playground/ball pit they have.

I am not too sure about the water park visits...Last yr I believe they had some good deals adding Wet and Wild. I haven't been there in a while but I think you should check out one of the Disney ones.(Kids prob have better time here)
