5th time.... Another miss for Res. Finder

I haven’t had much luck this time around either. My kids are going to be devastated if we can’t eat at BOG on our trip.

Do keep looking. We had 2 lunches booked 180 days out for BOG lunch and cancelled one the day before when a breakfast appeared just the night before (last Monday) our change of plans and the timing suited us much better! I literally was in bed whooping!

I found an 'Ohana reservation for 8 through it. Larger party sizes are more difficult, but not impossible at all.

I rang last week - the system is so frustrating - after scoring a breakfast for 4 (just us and DGC) the following morning earlier in our stay I started watching for another for morning of departure for 6 - nothing- but then I searched for 3 and got one - unfortunately I did it in my name so when another slot came up for 3 just 10 minutes later I couldn't also book that. I rang and asked could they book it but she said no as it was a different time. Following advice from here I tried to cancel the one in my name and do it for 3 guests - then get the second one in my name - but the system crashed Thursday and I had to give up sadly. So I'd watch for a 3 or 4 but book as guests/other party members first then if another comes up at the same time or 10 minutes either side do that in your name. Hope that makes sense.

Reservation finder was awesome for me last year. This time, not so much. Same story as you, except I have had more than 10 misses. I have given up on it and have had better luck just checking mde myself.

I know all the threads here telling people to use it have been well meaning, but the downside is there are now a lot more people using it and competing for the same ressies.

I don’t think the problem is that alone though.

There are also some social media groups where 1-2 members stalk mde all day and “grab” reservations that may be desirable “for the group” That they don’t even intend to use. Post after post of “I grabbed such and such for the group”.

It made me so grumpy and undisney feeling I had to cut myself off from all of that.

Who has time for this kind of behavior? Don’t people have jobs or families? It’s kind of sad. Maybe try volunteering if you are that bored!

I don't even have Facebook so that wouldn't benefit me at all. I barely have time to look on my own during the day on MDE.

Probably a combination of that, the restaurant you’re looking for, and how long until your trip. I am going at the end of January with a family of 5. There just isn’t much activity right now and won’t be until the FP window opens. Once people get their FPs, they’ll be moving ADRs around them. There will be more movement when the full trip payment is due (some may cancel their trips). Finally, you’ll see a lot cancelled just the day before (or a few) to avoid the cancellation fee. But between your ADR window opening and your FP window opening is a bit of a dead zone for reservations.

Yes, I leave tomorrow (Oct 31), the reservation is for 11/11, and I got my reservation on 10/28. I actually broke it down into smaller reservations since I have a party of 5. I'd been searching for all table sizes for a while, and have noticed many more available tables the closer that it got to the trip. In the end I managed it with 2 2-person reservations and 1 1-person.

I got upset when I tried it earlier this year and the text came through hours after they claimed they sent it. They blamed technology. I'm trying again for a resie for my brother's family, but I'm also stalking the disney world website because I'm not too optimistic about the reservation finder.

Congrats on the reservation. This is the only reservation that my 17 year old daughter has said is a MUST. She loves Rapunzel and at her age is still excited to do M&G's with the princesses. Her only other request for our vacation every place we eat must have some kind of steak (I created a major carnivore). Hop you have fun.

I had never heard of a text arriving hours after it was sent. Not saying it doesn't happen, just that I had never heard of it.

It's one thing if a text arrives and I'm in a meeting or something and I miss it. But to get a text essentially saying a resie was available hours ago...

That has happened too many times to me. But in the end I always get what Im looking for. Last year I used it and got both BOG and CRT.
