5th park announced today on ME bus.

Forgive me if this is old news, incorrect news or whatever since we were at WDW the last week.

Anyway the ME bus driver said a 5th park will open at WDW in 2009 and will be the biggest and the best. I thought what is he talking about since I have not heard anything concrete or on this board. They would have to be half done to make that happen I would think. Anyone else heard this or was he just throwing out a rumor?

Unfortunately, the bus drivers at WDW tend to be very free on giving out rumors, but rarely do they have any substance. So, I'd have to say the chances of this being accurate are about 1 in (to quote Back To The Future) a googolplex. Sorry!

Although, a 5th park would be awesome, I'd rather see them work to keep the 4 we have now updated and expanded.

Yeah ... b/c they're going to announce something THAT big on the bus.

So, what did he say the theme was going to be?! Where will the park be located? If he was willing to tell you about a new park, you'd think he'd mention theming, etc. And, you'd think they'd go public w/this amidst great fanfare rather than have CM's "gossip" about it.

Remember when they announced that there was going to be a "Big Announcement" earlier this year ... everyone thought it might be a new park (even a park in another country) and it wound up being a new ad campaign w/celebs like Beckham, Beyonce, etc.!? That was blown waaaay out of proportion for something so "small". I can't believe they'd leave a new park to the rumors of bus drivers rather than have some big to-do over it.

Too bad there isn't a bullet train straight from the airport to all 4 parks. Resort check in is handled directly on the train and luggage valets deliver your luggage to your room. Can you imagine walking into MK 30 minutes after touching down. That's a lot of pixie dust.

i believe there is a huge clearing between Rifikkis and Asia where a possible "Australia" would go and Camp Minnie-Mickey would be replaced with "North America"

also Disney Studios expanding across World Dr. after Pixar Place and Toy Story Mania open..

wasn't there an area south of the studios and North of WWOS is a large clearing where the 5th park would suppossedly be...??

and the monorail expansion all the way to Disney Studios...from Epcot

Just a bunch of notes that were released to Cast Members today in the Summer Cast Update:
July 9th will be rehab wall day! See below for details.
The Jedi Training Academy will become a permanent addition with a brand new stage. The wall will go up July 9th.
Mickey Ave will officially close on July 9th and will reopen with the ride as Pixar Place.
The Sorcerer Mickey hat will get a lighting refurb and the wall is expected to go up in July.
Playhouse Disney in Concert will be held in a large air-conditioned tent in the parking lot behind Rock 'n' Roller Coaster this year.
A new Playhouse Disney show will be opening in February featuring the Little Einsteins, Jojo's Circus, and Mickey's Clubhouse.
Little Einsteins and Jojo's Circus characters will have a new meet and greet area in the Animation Courtyard probably opening sometime in the fall.
Sorcerer Mickey will have a new meet and greet inside the Animation Tour building also opening in the fall.
Rock 'n' Roller Coaster will be going down for a major refurbishment from Labor Day to the beginning of October.
Voyage of the Little Mermaid will be going under refurbishment sometime in the next few months.
Rosie's and Eddie's on Sunset Blvd will go under refurbishments in the next month or two for kitchen upgrades.
Muppet Vision 3D will be switching over to a digital projection system (not 100% approved yet).
Block Party Bash will be making its debut in March and the Stars and Motor Cars parade will be retired here.
Toy Story Mania will be opening tentatively in late April.
A brand new show will be opening on a permanent basis in the ABC Theater in May.
Another major (e-ticket) ride will possibly be opening in 2009-2010 (nothing confirmed yet).

Many things that bus drivers have said have come to pass, we'll just have to keep our fingers crossed.

Here's what I know: Disney has a major announcement coming up in the next few weeks/months. It's supposed to be something located in WDW. And, if there's going to be a 5th gate, many say it will to the left of MK.

When we were at POP in April, one of the Disney bus drivers also said a new park would be opening in 2009-2010.

I know there has been a rumor for quite some time that Disney would be creating a 'Villians' park. It would be geared toward teens and thrill-seekers, since that is their weak spot (or so they say). It would have more rollercoasters and thrill rides.

We first heard about this on a fireworks cruise last summer.

I really hope this rumor is true!!! I am such a thrills fan!
