DH and I will run the W&D 5K in Nov. We will have our 5yo with us. I am not sure if we will have a babysitter (her 20yo sister) traveling with us. Is it ok to register as a stroller runner and then if we are able to leave her with her sister, run as a "normal" runner? A small part of me thinks she will have fun running through AK and a big part thinks she will be cranky from waking so early and then sleep through the whole thing!

BTW- she will be registered to run in the kids fun run later that morning.

Any experienced stroller runners?

There is nothing to distinguish a stroller runner from a "normal" runner.... besides the presence of a stroller, of course. There is nothing on your bib or anything to indicate that you are in the "stroller class". Disney pretty much just uses the honor system to get people to register as a stroller runner, and then they give a medallion to the kid in the stroller. If your DD decides to stay back in the room, you would just run as a normal runner.

I ran the 5K in 2011 with my (then) 5 month old in his stroller and he did sleep through the entire thing. He woke up when the volunteer at the end put the medallion around his neck, and then cheerfully chewed on it all the way back to the resort. :lmao:
