Hi Everyone,
DS6 (will be turning 8 on our CC day on our next cruise) and I were talking. He would like to do the 5K with me and beach yoga (obviously..this could change between now and then) Can you tell me if kids can do the 5K-I've read they can't...but also don't know how old the thread it...and can kids do yoga?
Thank you for the info!

The age-limit for the 5K is either 10 or 12. People have reported doing it with the kids unofficially participating - but it depends on the CMs in charge I think.

And the yoga is usually on Serenity Bay, which is adult only. He 100% could not go there.

The minimum age for the 5k was 10 in October. My 8 year old really wanted to do it, and they said they could not officially register her or give her a medal, but they would not stop her from going with me.

The minimum listed age for the 5K on our cruise this past week was 10. Yoga is at Serenity Bay, so definitely adults only.

Although kudos to your kiddo for wanting to be active! My oldest is 8 and running the 5K was not even in his radar!

I did the 5k on my cruise a couple of weeks ago, and while they wouldn't allow them to register or get the medals, there were definitely quite a few kids under 10 running the race. They were told that they could participate, but for legal purposes they weren't allowed to "officially" participate.

tell me more about this 5k.....sounds interesting

It is a "fun" run. No official timing, not a certified course (and not a true 5K - it is usually short unless you start counting g mileage from the moment you exit the ship. Hot. And not really scenic.
