Not by us, lol. We checked out of the Villas at Wilderness Lodge on Tuesday. We went to Roaring Fork to have lunch before our ME pickup at 1:00. As we waited to pay, I noticed the woman at the register next to me loading up the counter with dozens of bags of Doritos and chips, along with several Mickey Rice Crispy bars. She was telling the CM they were leaving that day and had 59 snack credits to use. Apparently she was a member of a party of 8. I couldn't believe my ears, so when she left I said to the CM, "Did she reallly have 59 snack credits left?" And the CM said, "Yes, she's on the Deluxe plan".

We always use the basic DDP, and never have excess snacks. Actually, we never have excess anything; we always use all of our credits. To those who use the Deluxe plan: Do you have trouble using your snacks?

That was me...54 credits left after a 12 day trip with 3 of us. We brought home 6 mickey rice crispy treats and 4 chip and dale mickey goldfish snacks..left 44 credits and 3 TS meals behind!

If you think that was bad, 6 of us went in 2008 and we left over 90 snack credits on the cards!!!

With 2 - 3 TS meals (apps/entree/dessert) per day and refillable mugs, there is no room for snacks!!

Ive done the math many times and it is worth it for us to get the deluxe. We tend to go to character breakfasts every morning and lots of dinner shows/signature dining at night. We need the deluxe for that.

Last time we had the basic dining plan & had to use up 16 snack credits the night before we checked out.

We have deluxe this year (so we can do a character breakfast & sitdown dinner & some 2credit dinners) so we will have even more left-over snack credits to use up.

Nope, I do DxDP every time, and I only have the credits left over that I left over on purpose!

I usually allot a number of snacks and Dining credits for our last day for Earl of Sandwich. We drive, so we get a bunch of stuff for the ride home!

Otherwise we use every last delicious credit! I think the problem is, people are afraid to use their credits for something as simple as a slushy or a water!

why leave so many credits and not get stuff to bring home? The krispy treats and other pre packaged items travel really well!

I used our last 10 snack credits at the Poly gift shop on our way out the door. No way would I leave them behind LOL. We got a bunch of mickey treats :) As for TS credits, I have them planned down to the very last one. No wasting on the deluxe dining plan for our family of 5!

There are lots of things you can get at the Main Street Confectionery to use up your snack credits. Also try any of the resort stores. We've also been known to go back into Epcot and load up on pastries and desserts in Norway or France or chocolates in Germany...but we drive and can fill a cooler with ice to bring it all home. We had 50+ snack credits left after a trip with 6 for a week once, so we brought home more mickey rick crispy treats than were imagineable, along with Minnie's cookies. I like to also bring back get the Mickey chocolate bars/coins and use them as stocking stuffers / gift treats at Christmas. We certainly don't leave any behind...DD loves having the Mickey snacks for weeks after we get home! But, I will say the first time we were on the DxDDP, we sorta hoarded the snack credits all week, not realizing home many we would have left. Now we use them for breakfast...ala carte stuff like yogurts, a boiled egg, cereal box, fruit and save our TS for signature / character meals. And, we just enjoy everything and get whatever looks / smells good at the moment. Not at all how we are at home, but that is what it is a vacation!

wow to leave that many credits is just a waste of money....I would use them and:
--- leave some in my room for mousekeeping as a thank you
--- bring home for your kid to share at home w/friends
--- just to have at home to continue the magic
--- little gifts for the person who helped take care of things at home for you

I'm sure there's plenty of other ideas too! just my two cents....

Wow..to those of you with any credits left, can I come with you next time? I can survive a vacation on those credits!

Why did you leave them? I didn't count snack credits in my DxDP math but there is no way I would have left a single one much less 90.

Anyway, we scrambled to spend 50 (of 56) credits our last day in the Main Street Bakery and Confectionery. We got cookies, fudge, krispie treats, tubes of pucker powder, candy, juice, soda, cupcakes, pastries, brownies, pretzels, fruit, veggies and nuts. It worked out great for us because we didn't have to stop for snacks or lunch during the drive home and we had plenty of Disney yummies to enjoy during our first few days home.

We are not big snack people! I couldnt see bringing home 54 (or 92 in 2008) snacks in our suitcases! We got a few things. It was nice for my daughter to have the crispy treats in her lunch bag when she got back to school, but not 3 months worth! I dont feel like Im leaving money behind and Im not about to raid a snack store at Disney because I have credits on my cards. I think we would have used more credits if I didnt buy a case of water for the room. We did save money just buying the deluxe plan. We went to all 3 dinner shows, Cali Grill, Narcoosees, Biergarten, San Angel Inn, Rose and Crown, Nine Dragons, The Plaza, 50's Prime Time, LTT, Ohana, Yak and Yeti and for breakfast we went to CRT, CP, Chef Mickeys, Akershus, 1900 PF, Ohana, Cape May, Kona, Grand Floridian Cafe, Hollywood and Vine, Tusker House. I think know we got our moneys worth!

Going Nov. 28th thru Dec. 1st for son's bday.

If anyone has any left from their family trip- let me know. I will be more than happy to take those leftover snacky poos!:worship:

We don't eat a lot of chocolate snacks but I can guarantee I could tear up some fresh fruits and some Mickey Krispy treats!!!

LOL!!!!!:goodvibes

if that was me with all of those snacks left over, I think I would pay it forward and give them to someone else:) that would be really fun!!

We have done DxDp twice. The first time we didn't have too much trouble using our snack credits. We didn't worry about how we used them and frequently used them for water.

Last time we went we bought refillable bottles and didn't need to use snack credits for water. So we had a bout 15 credits left on our last full day. I went to MK confectionary and bought a bunch of treats that we could take home so we ended up using all of our credits.

Last time we also did a few dining options that were not included on the dining plan (GF afternoon tea and Wishes dessert party) so we seemed to be full all the time. I bought a peanut butter cupcake at Starring Rolls and I was never hungry enough to eat it I think I had 2 bites.

We do however love DxDp and are planning on using again when we go back in February. This time I may plan on picking up more snacks that travel well and enjoy a little bit of Disney at home.:goodvibes

Interestingly, many visitors are now doing that, i.e. sharing. We did it on our last trip. At the Food Court at one of the value resorts, we gave our left over snacks to other visitors.

I love the DxDDP. I like having an early TS lunch about 11:30am, then a 2 credit Signature meal around 7:30pm. However I am not a breakfast eater or a snacker. It is normal for me not to use a single snack credit when I'm down there. Last Dec I was down there on the DxDDP with my mom and husband. On our last day we had 48 snacks left to use at Goofy's. I'm solo and on the DxDDP Dec 4th-12th and fully expect to have 16 snacks left on my last day.:confused3

Wow, you wouldn't happen to be stayin at POR would you? Me and BFF are checking in on the 11th and will only have 4 snacks each!!! (regular dining for 4 nights) I think we may starve!

It depends on how you define trouble. :rotfl: Do we use them all for ourselves in the course of the day? No. Some get used at Goofy's or Main Street Confectionery for treats to bring home to the kids' friends. That's become such a tradition that we plan on it now.

We've never had 59 leftover, though, not even on the 11 night trip when we had 88 snacks to use. The most we ever brought home was about 35, enough for both kids to share with their classes when they got home. And that was our first DxDDP trip; since then we've adjusted our habits a bit and found some new favorite snacks, and consequently we don't bring home near as many (that first trip, I was guilty of paying OOP for some things because I was still in the basic DDP mindset of water or a banana not being a good use of a snack). On our last trip we brought home 12 out of 72 snacks, just enough to share with the kids in the neighborhood and our families.

I had trouble using my snacks. The reason being is you get so much food who can snack! I had never ate so much then on the dining plan. I used my snacks as cheap take home gifts :)

Sorry if my question sounded snippy as it was not meant to be. We more than got our moneys worth out of the DxDP without the snacks but I just can't imagine leaving snack credits unspent. Trust me, DH and I discussed it on our last day because we really aren't snack people either but the bottom line was that those credits translated into money and we were not giving Mickey any freebies.
