How do you measure, measure a year?"
Every now and again, JellyrollsKaren gets a little sappy and sentimental, and today is one of those days. (PSA for Pop Daddy--if you're reading this turn back now, it's going to be a long one). Please bear with me as I try to put into words how I measure this past year on the DIS.
It's been a little more than 525,600 minutes since I registered here on the DIS (tack another week onto that). I can't believe how quickly that year has gone by. The year has had it's ups and downs like any other year, but over all it was a pretty good one.
And that is in part to you here on the DIS. I have had so much fun getting to know so many of you through your posts, in chat rooms, and down at Disney World a few weeks ago. I really am awed by what an amazing group of people are here on the DIS, and I beam with pride to know that I am a part of it.
You all make me laugh and smile. I am moved and inspired by what I read here on these boards on a daily basis. I feel like I'm watching everyone's kids grow up, and love hearing stories about them. I am continually amazed by the outpouring of love and support given on these boards to anyone who needs it (I'll never forget the support I got from everyone when my dad was diagnosed with lung cancer). I never imagined that this silly computer I'm sitting at right now could make my family grow by so many wonderful people in just a year.
So how do I measure my year. In part, I measure it in each and everyone one of you. I've been touched by so many people here, and I am very grateful to have found this place. It's a really great feeling.
