Hi, all -

What a great place this is! I've lurked for a few days, (since finding the site) as we're way into our trip planning, and am glad I found this wonderful resource.

We're visiting WDW with our family shortly, and obtained a 50th Anniversary Pal Mickey (the new one with the tux) to take with us. It is used, but in great shape, but there are no directions. It does seem easy to operate, but...!

We got it because it came highly recommended via several sources as a great tool to help entertain and distract our 7-year old son with autism when we're in lines, etc. at the park. (It will be his first trip there and it will be a surprise - we're only telling him the night before!) If there's anyone who can point me to an online copy or send us a copy/scan, we'd be most grateful. Many thanks.

I'm sorry, we don't have a Pal Mickey, I can't help you. Maybe me bumping this up will get you more replies. Hope so!

I don't have instructions handy, but this is all you need to know for the purposes of the parks.

When you get him, unzip his back (you might have to open his tux), and there will be an on/off switch. Make sure you turn it on. This can be misleading because even off he still talks, he just happens to say the same thing over and over again.

When he is on, you can press his hand anywhere and he will tell a joke or ask a trivia question or sing a song, but in the parks themselves, you will hear him laugh or feel him vibrate when he has something to say. In addition, if you press his tummy (hard to find) and his hand at the same time, he will ask if you want to play one of three games.

Although to me he was useless in pointing out short lines, he was great in telling you when the parade was about to start (for Magic Kingdom and MGM), as well as trivia as you entered each area. My favorite part was during the walking expeditions in AK, he would tell you something about each animal as you approached them.

Thanks for this speedy and valuable info - I think we'll be doing LOTS of parades, etc., and not so much of the "big name" rides, etc., so the parade reminders will be very helpful. I never would have thought of the AK uses for Pal Mickey - this is great!
