50th Celebration

I was just wondering, what is your favorite thing that WDW added for the celebration?


I think mine would have to be Soarin' it is so AWESOME!!!

I'd have to say lights! motors! action! but only because I was not lucky enough to be able to ride soarin' while I was there in march. I was disappointed that they weren't doing a preview that week!

Lights! Motors! Action! is great too. I got picked to go down and "drive the car" I must admit, at first I was pretty freaked!

haven't been to WDW for the 50th, but I was at DL. and i love the gold cars they added onto the original rides (there's a golden horse on the carousel, a golden dumbo, etc etc).
plus, the fireworks are AMAZING.

and yes, Soarin' is an AWESOME ride. hehe

I really like lucky, that is an engineering marvel.
I am also looking forward too Expedition Everest. ( I might be able to go on the soft opening in December)

Everest looks really cool!! I cant wait to ride it. While we were down there we asked CMs when it was opening and they said that they werent sure.

So two questions:

1. What is a "soft opening"
2. Do you know when it will officially open?

StephaBabe- a soft opening is kinda like a preview. most rides have soft openings about a month or so before the official opening. I have no idea when Everest is opening tho, sorry!

Speaking of soft openings, another thing DL added for the 50th was the re-launch of the newly remodeled Space Mountain. Since it didn't officially open until the 15th, when I went there on July 1st, I didn't think it would be open. But it was in previews, aka, a soft opening. I waited 50 minutes, but it was SO worth it. It is such an AWESOME ride now!

They did that for Mission Space which is my favorite ride, but this Everest could possibly top it. I was there last year and this year, and there is one heck of an improvement. THey have the mountian part up, all they need to do I THINK is to get the finishing touches on track and scenery
