I plan on being at MK on my 50th and trying to decide which resort to stay at. My DH and I have stayed at most of the resorts and our goal is to stay at each one. So I could stay at a resort we haven't been to or go to a favorite of ours. Thought I would get some opinions.

Do you plan on some alone time? I love recommending OKW in a 1 bedroom. The resort is so beautiful and relaxing, has a great restaurant and pool bar, and the room has a 2 person jacuzzi

A Fort Wilderness cabin is also cozy and fun! What time of year will you be there? If it's around a holiday, you'll have a lot of fun looking at the camper decorations, and you can do some decorating in your cabin too. Rent a golf cart, play shuffleboard, take archery lessons, go horseback riding, see the Chip and Dale campfire show and movie, Hoop De Doo or Trail's End, fireworks on the beach!

Contemporary Resort, theme park view. For me, hanging out on the balcony at night overlooking MK, seeing it wake up in the morning, plus good restaurants.

May is when we'll be going. I'll have to look into OKW. Thanks.

I would suggest one of the Epcot resorts since the Epcot Flower & Garden show will be going on during May. Walk or relax on a relaxing boat ride to 2 parks and still have easy access to the rest Disney has to offer.

I have the same dilemma, LOL! I will be celebrating my 50th there and I'm completely torn. I'm hoping to eat at V&A for the first time on that trip, so GF is a strong contender for convenience. BWI is also on the list because it's a family favorite. Do you have other plans for your trip? I'm big on convenience and always try to pick a resort that will mean less travel time to our planned destinations.

What resorts haven't you stayed at yet?

I'm so envious! I wanted to go for just 3 days for my 50th but it's right at the beginning of February vacation for most students and it's so expensive. Flights alone would cost us over 400. each way for each of us! :worried:

I would stay at either GF or Beach Club. I would also contemplate going club level at AKL.

I have stayed at the Beach Club, and I find the location perfect. I have never stayed at GF and would love to try it out.

If being close to MK is important to you, then I would recommend either GF or Contemporary, both are legacy Deluxe resorts and will truely give you the classic WDW experience along with the obvious visibility/proximity to MKP.

If being close to MK is not important to you, then I would recommend an EC area resort (as previously suggested), my personal favorites are BWI and BC/YC :)

Grand Floridian with Royal Palm Club (Club Level Main Bldg.). Did it for my 40th and it was magical! Good luck deciding!! And Happy 50th!!

DH and I are going next May to celebrate his 50th. We are staying at The BoardWalk because we love Epcot. Great way to celebrate your 50th, wherever you stay!

I booked GF lake view when my wife turned 50. Then had a surprise illuminations birthday party at the french pavilion in Epcot with our kids and family members.

I'm going for my 50th as well in January! I'll be there Jan 26 - Feb 2 :tigger:and am staying at Pop. Originally was going to be a solo trip as none of my friends can get away then and my daughter is in college, but I've always been the fun mom among my friends and my BFF's 14 yr old hasn't been since she was 2 yrs old .... So, she is letting her go with me! She told me she couldn't do a Disney trip justice they way I do it and she would rather send her with me since she doesn't know if she will go back. I'm excited to take her and she is so excited to go with me .... she is counting down the days but then again so am I:earsboy: #Trip15ToTheWorld
