Hi. I was wondering if anyone knew if there are new autograph books for the 50th celebration, other than the ones from 2004. I remember when we went in 2003 and being dissapointed that they were the same as 2002's autograph books. Thanks for your help. :earsboy:

There is a new gold autograph/photo album combination for the 50th anniversary. It comes with a pen.

A little tip about those gold pens...I can tell you firsthand that many characters hate those pens on account of it is very difficult to see the writing on those blue pages. They have trouble telling if the pen is working or if they are signing on top of another signature. The autographs do look very pretty in gold, but the characters prefer ink that will stand out from the background. :)

Thanks feralpeg for the picture.

Angiebelle, we will probably use our old pens, but might as well get the book and just use the pins at home.

The pages are BLUE??? How blue? Like NAVY BLUE or like Blue or like Sky Blue?

It seems like not much would show up if the pages are too dark.

AngieBelle--

So glad you told us about the characters not liking the pens. As soon as I find out about the color of the pages, I'll get a pen that will show up well.

Thanks for the picture Feralpeg!! It looks really nice!

Are these books still around $6 or $7? Also I thought I read that the autograph books had places to put pictures for around $12. Are there 2 different kinds of autograph books? Sorta confused.. :confused3

If these books hold pictures also, can you tell us how many pictures and autographs it will hold.

The pages are sky blue...it's not too hard to see the autographs with normal eyes, but you know many characters don't see very well as it is. The pages are large, but they don't have nearly the amount of pages that a regular little book has. Most kids put multiple signatures on the same page on the larger books, but you may want to let the characters know what you want them to do so they know whether they should sign big or small.

We had the Gold book for the Chef Mickey dinner and Goofy got a little goofy over that darn pen. We just used the Mickey pen, which is rather lacking in and of itself this time around.
The photo spots hold a 3x5 photo and is really cute. We got the princess ones as well for the Cinderella dinner and my FIL put photos in already. Very cute!!
But the new books are very cool! The princess book is cheaper than the Mickey one because it doesn't come with a pen. ? At least that's what the woman in the gift shop said.

But what is going on with the blue Mickey pen? We got it 18 months ago and its still going strong. We never had a problem with it. This time around it didn't work right (yes we had to buy a new one), Jasmine told us to take it back and get a new one, we did and that one didn't work right! My advice is try a different pen.
Next time I might bring my own Sharpie! :goodvibes

Does anyone have any pics to share of the inside of the new autograph books. Are the picture spots on one side and the autograph on the other?? I am trying to see how many sets of pictures and autographs will fit in the book.

I'm curious about that, too. I'm thinking of having my kids do the regular books like they always do, and then buying the special one for me to get signed at meals or with a few favorite characters -- and then putting photos in tit as the "family autograph book and album."

My kids like their own books, and thye try to get as many autographs as they can, each trip. But this special book could be nice for certain auographs....hmmm....have to think that through.

Oh wow those new gold bokks are soooo cute! WE may just have to get new ones!

The new gold books have room for 14 autographs and picutres. They are $12. Also, I agree with AngieBelle about the gold pens. It is pretty, but I think they are hard to read for a regular person too. The paper is a light blue color. We got ours at Disneyland. They also had a red 50th anniversary little book, like the old blue ones for $6. I am hoping that WDW has (or will have be Dec) these books as well.

We got the gold book because we were going a character dinner and one day in DL. Between those two, we almost filled the book. I would think that this new book would not last very long on a long trip.

AngieBelle - any thoughts on the princess book with the picture slots. Did they add blank opposing pages to the gold book because that line undr the picture is too hard for the characters to sign?

I think the new books all have the big blank page on the opposite side. I think the lines under the photo pages are meant for *you* to write something about thie picture since autographs look rather odd there. When I first started getting those books, I was never sure where exactly I was supposed to sign. Many people have had me sign on the lines under the photo, but I had to sign pretty small. I suggest that if you want to make the most of those big books with limited pages, try to get all characters of one unit to sign on the same page, i.e. all Pooh characters, all fab five characters, etc.

Of course, there's always that one special character who deserves an entire page. :)

And the photo/autograph thing doesn't quite work if you have multiple signatures on one page but can only put one character in a photo at a time, unless maybe you shrink the pics so they can all fit on one page.

So, does

a) the princess one have photo slots?
b) anyone have a picture of the princess one?
c) anyone have a picture of the red one mentione?
d) (not a question but) 14 autographs? WOW
