Best restaurant to do such? Preferably on monorail loop. Friends of mine are going in late October. It’s their 50th and they decided to share it at a corresponding 50th. They may struggle with some times as this was a last minute decision so it would be great to hear the best options to hope one or two have availability.

Is this for your 50th anniversary? Or WDW 50th on October 1st? There’s pretty much nothing open on the monorail loop on October 1st. California Grill is closing after October 3rd to change to a new dining experience for the 50th celebration. No details or reopening date have been announced yet. Citrico’s has recently been remodeled &has seems elegant, although I haven’t seen it in person. The Wave at the Contemporary is currently closed but will reopen as Steakhouse 71. If it is anything like the Steakhouse at Disneyland Hotel, it will be very nice.

I would agree with V&A as a first choice. Every meal there has been magical. Not inexpensive, but nothing else there comes close.
Normally, I would say California Grill. After Oct 2, it changes and so far there has been no information about what the new format/menu will be. Probably still a good choice.
While not on the monorail, I would consider Jiko or Flying Fish if they are open by then.
Steakhouse 71 is a total unknown. Could be great or terrible. Menu and opening date still unknown.

It’s a friends anniversary. I edited my original post. They might try Citricos if it’s available.

We're going to Narcoosee's for our 20th anniversary dinner. Hopefully with MK fireworks starting up again we'll be able to see something. I'm also going to order a cake (it's a surprise for my husband). We were married at WDW at the wedding pavilion on grounds of GF so that's one reason we picked there and we've never been there before.

For our 30th we celebrated at Artist Point (that was pre-character meal). It would be hard to beat that. Other than V&A, we're thinking of Flying Fish (DH loves fish) or Jiko for our 40th.

At this point, I'd start by searching the date for availability rather than search a specific restaurant only to find that there is no availability or none at an acceptable time. Just my two cents. There seems to be high volume at the end of October/ early November, so might be more accurate to search this way. That being said....FLYING FISH!!

I know. They haven’t been in decades so it will be an eye opener for them. They literally planned this trip last Wednesday. I’ll also get them set up with some reservation finders. I’m just hoping the overall trip won’t be a bust for them.

There are many choices that aren’t currently open so I’m going skip past the regrets and suggest the anniversary couple consider leaving the monorail loop and celebrate at Disney Springs. Lots of choices not exclusively tied to Disney Dining’s website thus less problems getting a reservation.

If V&A isn't open, I HIGHLY recommend Flying Fish. It is absolutely ah-mazing!!

FF is closed currently; same for V&A, Jiko and AP. Narcoossee and Topolino are the only commonly celebratory restaurants currently opened in WDW so expect a time lag getting an ADR

Hopefully FF will be open by the time her friends go at the end of October.

California Grill is the tops. Make sure you tell them it is your anniversary.

Cali Grill, Citrico's or Narcoosee's on the monorail. If they have difficulty getting a signature reservation at a WDW resort, I highly recommend looking into Shula's, Il Mulino or bluezoo at Swan/Dolphin - they could uber/lyft/taxi over if need be or go on a day they are visiting EP or DHS. They are arguable some of the best restaurants on-property and, typically, easier to get into.
