I am trying to determine where to have my parents 50th anniversary dinner...June 11th.

we are there for 10 days, but wanted to make THE actual day of their anniversary something special.

Casual not fancy..and the whole family.

So I was thinking of the Hoop Dee Do unless someone has other suggestions. May the hoop dee do and then over to MK to see wishes Dessert party (if we do early hoop dee do).

If we do the Hoop Dee Do..I was wondering for those that went is it worth the extra 10.00 or 5.00 for the cat 1 seats? doesn't seem like a lot but multiplied by 8 it is.

And --- are there any discounts for hoop dee do. Visa, DVC, Tables in Wonderland, etc. (I will be asking tomorrow, but just curious if anyone knew). JUST FOUND this Tables in wonderland 20% off..

Thanks.

yes, the Tables in Wonderland discount may be available - but I think it's only for the 9:30 show.

TDC Nala is correct. The TiW discount is only available at the 9:30 show.
I think it is worth every penny. We celebrated our 40th anniversary there in October. We had a blast. The show is great and the food is very good.
We did pay extra for Tier 1 seats. Since I made our ressies the first day I was able we also had seats right up front at the stage. They were great.
Seats are assigned based on the date of the ressie, so the early you book, the better your table assignment.
Have a Great Trip

so good to know that..I just booked for the 5:00pm show..tier 1...hoping to be able to go to dessert wishes party to top the evening off...for their anniversary.

Do you think that would be too much. I figure there will be a 2 hour time frame in between.

or maybe we should just do wishes a different night.
Thanks again.

I love HDDR, but there is little opportunity to talk to your table mates. It wouldn't be my first choice for an anniversary dinner.

The show is great. The food is generally poor. Ribs are inedible. Chicken is dry. Salad is okay. Cornbread is good. Dessert is a gloppy strawberry mess. The service is so so.

Since the show's the thing, I think it is well worth paying extra to be on the main floor and close to the stage.

What a review....I LOVED it!!!!

I thought the Wishes Dessert Party ended on January 2nd? Did they extend it, or are you just hoping?

Okay, I am hoping too and thought I might have missed a news flash on it! We'll be there June 6-12, so some of our dates will overlap!

I think HDDR and Wishes Dessert Party will be way too much on the same night, unless you're OK with not eating a lot of dessert at the party. I thought the HDDR food was pretty good - ate two whole chicken breasts.

But you will be spending much of the time at HDDR watching the show and not chatting with your family.

I love HDDR! The show and food have been fantastic both times I have been...I love it so much in fact that I am having my wedding reception there :) Yes it's loud - but I think it's a great way to celebrate!

Thanks..I was thinking it might be too much too....so we will probably shoot for the Dessert party another night.

The main reason I am not worried about being able to talk a lot is that we have 10 days together there....this night is THEIR actual anniversary...and right now we have nothing to do that day..meaning I am keeping it free to relax and be together.
