Does anybody know what the price will be on the 50th Anniversary Commemorative Ticket? I would think there would be a "premium" above normal ticket cost.

Thanks. :earsgirl:

Never heard of these. Is this something special for the 17th?

Here are the details on the ticket:

Our biggest celebration ever deserves a very special commemorative ticket! This large-format, two-sided ticket features:

* 3-D representation of the 50th Anniversary Sleeping Beauty Castle on the front
* Walt Disney's opening day "welcome" speech on the back
* Sound chip that plays an actual recording of Walt giving this famous speech
* Interactive "flying" Tinker Bell feature
* Ticket is valid for one day admission into both parks.

Only 5,050 ticket being printed! Get yours while supplies last at the City Hall in Disneyland park, Guest Relations Lobby in Disney's California Adventure park, and World of Disney in the Downtown Disney District.

Since it is valid for both parks on one day, I'm guessing that it will be priced at $73, which is the current price for a Disneyland Resort 1-Day Park Hopper Ticket.

I read on another board (a loooooooong time ago, and I have no idea where) that it was going to be priced at $150. I don't know if that's true because it was well before there was "official" info about it.

Can you please link/direct me to where you found that description? I wonder if there's a way to purchase it in advance for those of us who aren't in Southern California. :confused3

ETA: I just found some more info - this website: http://64.233.161.104/search?q=cache:xS6ZHz2XYhIJ:www.register123.com/event/profile/web/index.cfm%3FPKwebID%3D0x2145253b3%26varPage%3Dactivity+commemorative+anniversary+ticket+disneyland+&hl=en says that it will retail at $125, and, if I'm understanding correctly, will not be available until July 17th.

I'd still love any additional info, though, so thanks in advance!

The details I quoted on the ticket came from Disneyland's AP site. Apparently, annual passholders will have the opportunity to pre-purchase this commemorative ticket from July 1 to July 16 at a $20 discount. There was no retail price listed. I took a guess at the purchase price based on previous sales of commemorative tickets -- usually at or near face value.

The $125 price comes from the Disney Gallery website, so I would assume that to be an accurate sale price. A framed version of the commemorative ticket, limited to 100 units, is available for $215 to people attending the Celebrating 50 Years Of Magical Memories Event July 15-17.

My understanding is that it will be sold to the general public on July 17. Both the AP site and the Disney Gallery site list the same locations for purchase. Perhaps you can purchase it from DeliverEARS as well? Their number is 800-362-4533.

Sorry for any confusion on the price. Good luck to those wanting to purchase it!

Thanks, Matt! No confusion on my end - I was hoping you were right about the $73.

I'm not familiar with Disney Gallery's items - I mean, I know OF Disney Gallery and have visited the site for info on special events, but do you think the prices listed for any of the items are reflective of what it would be for general public? Or are those prices adjusted, considering you have to pay to attend the events to begin with?

I guess it makes sense for Disney to try to hook AP holders in with a special ticket first, since that day is blocked out for non-Deluxe tickets.

It looks like a pretty cool ticket and $73 sure sounded better than $125. I guessed. And looks like I guessed wrong.

I'm really not sure why it is being pre-sold to APers. Or why it is at a discount to them on top of that. To my knowledge, the commemorative ticket does not need to be used solely on July 17, as the day is not a hard-ticket event. Obviously, if it being sold inside the park to the general public on July 17, it wouldn't make much sense for it to only be good that day since you'd need an admission ticket to buy it from there anyway. The best case scenario for Disney would be that people will pop for these tickets and then NOT use them for admission. Sort of like people buying Disney Dollars for their collection and not actually spending them.

The Disney Gallery website is simply Disney's way of announcing collectible merchandise that will be available at Disneyland and Walt Disney World (or for signing people up for these collector's events). It is not directly tied to the merchandise location itself, nor does it function as an online retailer. The commemorative ticket is included in the Arts & Collectibles Brochure 2005 as part of Disneyland's July product release. I'm fairly confident that the price announced there is the price that will be charged to the general public upon the ticket's release. The non-framed ticket will be available for purchase by anyone. It is the 100 framed tickets that are first reserved for people attending the event.

Of course, this is Disney, which means "All information is subject to change." ;)

I received the AP newsletter/calendar the other day and saw the AP discount, but they didn't list the price. Thanks for the details - you guys are always so helpful. :earsgirl:
