Hello all! Thanks for having me. I've used the search function and found similar questions, but I had a more general concern about the actual day vs future celebration dates -

Long time WDW goer here, but recently moved to Seattle. I most certainly want to be in the most magical place on earth on Oct. 1st, 2021, but I show that lots of the hotels and reservations have been booked for months now. My question is - Do you think there is going to be much difference being there on Oct. 1st vs let's say Nov. 1st?

The 18 month celebration would definitely kick off strong starting on Oct. 1st, but I am not sure it is in the cards for me or not. Should I do everything in my power to be there on the anniversary date or do y'all think as long as I am there in that 18 month window, it'll be a similar experience?

Unless you HAD to have a pin or something that said I was here or any limited edition anniversary merchandise not being there on the day will be fine.....

We are going toward the end of the month. I expect that day to be so crowded, I have no interest in being there.
If you really need one of the buttons, etc that are available that day, then go for it.
I'm happy to pass.

Great advice! I had the pleasure of doing a soft opening for Pandora and it was wildly fun, but I would imagine this would be on another level. I think I will hold off on the anniversary day itself. Thanks!

I’ve done Epcot on the 35th (I wanted certain items so went for a half day) and Animal Kingdom on the 20th anniversary (was on property for something unrelated) and they were experiences for sure

I'm trying to make the same decision.
I am now booked for end of November and have also the full on Merrytime experience.

My reasoning is that even if I was in the park for the Celebration itself it will be so crowded that I will miss out on things, like special appearances, speeches or whatever they have planned.

Then again I'm pretty sure that with all the bloggers and youtube people I will be able to experience some of those things from the comfort of my home.

To us Disney seemed crowded when we last went in 2019 regardless of whatever is being celebrated. Seems they are always celebrating something at one of the parks. It is far less enjoyable when some park is wall-to-wall people and you can barely walk around. I doubt October vs November matters that much for whatever they happen to be celebrating at that time.

I went to Disneyland for the first time, and it was during Disneyland's 50th anniversary. The celebration had been going on for quite a few months but the park was still decorated and special events were still taking place. I got my golden mickey ears and had a blast. I don't think you'll be missing out at all. Party will be going on at WDW for 18 months!
