What menu items have you tried at 50's PT that you loved? didn't love? What did your youngins like?

I have tried and love the Fried Chicken and Pot Roast. The smores dessert was just ok to me but maybe I got it on an off day!?

Our party at dinner there last month and we liked:
Caesar Salad (one person said it was the best she had eaten all week and she had a Caesar salad at almost every restaurant we were in
Fried chicken (subbed corn for the greens)
Pot Roast
Meatloaf
Cobbler (loved the topping)

Iffy:
Dad’s sundae (DH thought there was too much “stuff” for him to enjoy the ice cream)

Pot Roast!!
DH and I both get it, it's soooo good! My DD loved the fried chicken and DS was happy to have chicken nuggets. DD was able to have mashed potatos and corn with hers and so was DS, but he just got the corn. They both loved their food and ate it all!! Very rare for my 8 and 3 year old!!

Well, lets start with the important stuff - the milkshakes are yummy!

DH has had both the fried chicken and the meatloaf and loved both of them. I actually tried their glazed salmon this past summer and it was very tasty! Also, the herb cheese appetizer is very good and would recommend that, as well.

The only thing I've heard not so good reviews on was the chicken noodle soup...I've read from several reviews that it tasted like it was out of a can. I haven't tried it myself....thats just what I've heard.

My dearest friend was just arguing with me 2 days ago about that ap. She was complaining about the bread being *hard* I told her thats the way the dish is prepared, but she just didnt listen. (croustini(sp) *is* supposed to be crunchy, right? :rotfl:

I had a chicken sandwich that was really good. My DBF had the fried chicken and he really liked it. We also had the ice cream and brownie dessert (it also had M&Ms and caramel popcorn on it). The dessert was fantastic! We split it. Usually brownies are too rich for me to eat with ice cream, but I ate that one! :rotfl: Hmmm. I'm kind of hungry now...

The fried chicken is awesome - and I'm a fried chicken snob ;)

Pot roast was also a big hit at our table last trip!

Yes, crostini is supposed to be crusty. It's like bruscetta. It shouldn't be hard as rocks, but definitely not soft, warm bread. It's toasted.

We must have been there on a bad day or something because it did not impress any of us. I mean, it was good, just nothing that made us say "Wow!" None of us had anything we felt like we just had to have again.
DH - pot roast (he said he had had better, it was average)
DS - fried chicken (probably the most favorite, DS said it was good - from adult menu)
DD - a club type sandwich (cannot remember for sure - from adult menu)
Me - a seafood type sandwhich - I do not eat beef, pork, chicken, etc...the only once living creatures I eat are ones that come from saltwater so I know it was a seafood, but I do not remember what kind. I do remember commenting on it was good - just not something I would seek out to eat again.
Our waiter was great though. He made up for what the food was lacking.Oh yeah - the kids had milkshakes and they loved those!!! The onion rings looked good, I do wish we had tried those.

Iffy:Dad’s sundae (DH thought there was too much “stuff” for him to enjoy the ice cream)

I agree with your DH - too much "stuff". So in December, I asked for it without the "stuff" and they brought me the most delicious brownie sundae!
I also LOVE the pot roast - I always get it. I wanted so badly to try something else last time (possible the fried chicken), but when it came time to order, I just couldn't do it - I ordered the pot roast - again!

The PB&J milkshake I am guessing it's not on the menu? I have heard a lot of people say it's very good. If I wanted to try one do I just simply ask the waitress if it's not on the menu, or have they stopped serving it? I am also looking forward to Primetime we are going for lunch. The dads sundae looks good, and I am considering trying it, but yes with all it comes with I doubt I will finish more then 2-3 bites lol but at least I tried it. I also am considering trying the smores, but geez now I am hearing the cobbler is good. So many choices.:bride: :groom:

pot roast! :thumbsup2

DH has had the fried chicken and meatloaf...he also said that the humongous pile of green beans they give you are really gross (and he likes green beans), but don't hide them in your ketchup b/c you'll get in trouble...:rotfl:

Everything sounds so good! Thank you for replying. We should be able to find lots that we will enjoy!

Here's what we liked most:

Fried Chicken
Pot Roast
S'mores
Blueberry Cobbler (though I would bet they're ALL good)

The Meatloaf, for us, was just OK. Maybe I'm spoiled as my wife makes the best mealoaf on earth, so.....

The only thing I've heard not so good reviews on was the chicken noodle soup...I've read from several reviews that it tasted like it was out of a can. I haven't tried it myself....thats just what I've heard.

If it comes from a red can with a Campbell's label on the side, it will feel just like home. :thumbsup2

Get the fried chicken, it's great and a huge portion. If you get the kids portion they still give them two pieces, adults get three. I suppose Disney has to save the wings for 'ohana.

My DH and I shared the Angelfood cake and berries dessert over the summer. It was great and a little bit lighter than the icecream or smores for desert. Especially after a heavy plate of fried chicken.

I had onion rings for an appetizer and the Pan Seared Glazed Salmon for an entree. For dessert, I had an ice cream sundae. It was all very good.

My husband had Chicken Noodle Soup, Pot Roast and Angel Food Cake with berries for dessert. He also had a milkshake which was very good. He loved all of the food he was served.
