Does anyone know the name of the quick service/walk up restaurant at DHS that is kind of equivalent to 50's Prime Time. I remember seeing a picture where someone got a yummo looking plate of fried chicken from there. We would mosv likely want to go there, since we couldn't get a reservation at 50's. Thanks:hippie:popcorn::

Maybe you mean the lounge that's connected to 50's PTC -- the Tune In Lounge, I think it's called. I don't think it's classified at quick service/counter service as far as the DDP goes, or as far as how long you will wait if you actually want to sit and eat your food. It's the bar/lounge attached to the restaurant, with bar seating and some tables, no ADRs, usually crowded I think, but I have read that you can order from the full menu there, though we haven't done it. :goodvibes

Thanks for the clarification. Sounds like you hit it right on the head. I will definitely be checking it out to see if we can order from the menu. If so...:woohoo::banana::cool1:Once again, Thank you. :upsidedow

We've sat at the bar at the Tune-In Lounge a few times and ordered our meals from their full menu with no problem. The bartender there makes a great margarita BTW.

I seem to remember the bar as being pretty small....maybe 8 or so seats...? I've always wanted to just grab two seats at the bar with my DH and order the fried chicken dinner to split. We just haven't had a chance to do so yet!

The Tune-Inn Lounge. Has about ten or 12 seats at the bar.

Besides the actual bar, the seating/lounge area is cool looking - like a '50's living room with old TV's clips playing (not entire episodes) of shows from then, on a repeating loop. But there are not dining "tables" as you might think. They have coffee tables which are low and small and it would not be easy to eat a full meal there.

We went in the fall in mid-afternoon and it was empty except for one guy at the bar. The (female) CM bartender was friendly when we ordered (drinks and sandwiches) but spent all of her time chatting with the male customer. We still aren't sure if she just didn't want to help us or if she's supposed to stay behind the bar.

But ALL of the "tables" were dirty from previous use and we couldn't get ANYONE to clean one off for us. Dirty glasses, plates and smeared food/drinks apparently from the lunch hour people.

The restaurant was pretty empty with about 5 or 6 CM's who serve the regular area standing around the cash register area chatting. We asked the bartender if our table could be cleaned up, she talked to another worker and nothing happened. We finally asked her to give us the rag to clean up.

Someone finally came over, LIGHTLY swished the rag and left it just as dirty as before, just smeared. We used our napkins and tried to overlook it. Great theming, but disappointing customer service with all the CM's standing around gossiping and every table in the lounge completely dirty. I wanted to talk to the manager but my sister talked me out of it. Didn't want to make an issue of it.

It would have been a great experience if the place had been clean. It's really neat theming. By the way, the Bailey's Irish Cream milkshake was delicious!

Thanks everyone. Very glad to hear that we will be able to order food at the Tune In lounge. :happytv:I won't be too concerned about eating there. Will just try to get it to go.:thumbsup2And not concerned about the TV portion, either.

Wow they must have changed this since I was there last. I've never seen anyone eating in the "living room" area. It was a holding area for people waiting to be seated.

I've sat at the bar (when I could get a seat) and ordered drinks. I think we ordered a appetizer or something from the bar menu, but never a full meal. Glad to know it's an option (not that I find the food there very appealing).

Was there about 2pm last Saturday and the lounge was absolutely mobbed. I don't even think they do take out.

TS restaurants are not set up for to go service, I have not seen any reports of being able to get take out at 50's prime time

let us know what happens :)

This was in Nov. 2004, slow season (before free dining) mid-week and mid-afternoon. Maybe during crowded times no one can find a seat there since, as you said, it ends up being a "holding area". We only went in that one time. We have never been interested in the server involvement that is part of the restaurant experience but I'd read about the lounge online (probably this site) and so we tried it out.

We didn't do a full meal. We had drinks and either sandwiches or appetizers - or a combo, can't remember exactly. We weren't interested in the heavier home cooking on the restaurant side so we wouldn't have chosen a full meal on the lounge side.

You can't use DDP if you sit at the bar in the lounge. While the restaurants accept DDP, the lounges don't. (Check and make sure if it's a lounge with a full menu but to my knowledge you can't use DDP at lounges.) Tune-In will serve the full menu, but they don't do food for takeout. You could get the food but you'd have to eat it there. The tables are the waiting area for the restaurant. They are not meant as eating areas, which is probably why they aren't cleaned. I have never seen anyone eat there.

You can walk out with a drink, though, as long as it's in a plastic cup. Glass containers are not allowed outside in the park.

I've eaten at the bar and have used the Dining Plan. We were on the Deluxe DP and ordered 1 meal (appetized, entree, dessert) and split it. It was an off-time (maybe mid-afternoon) and the lounge was not busy at all.

The Tune In Lounge is one of my favorite places to go when it's really hot. I like to have a nice drink and cool down. Their pina coladas are really good. There is one man who works there though and is notorious for bad service. I always hope he isn't there. You don't use DDR to sit at the bar. It's pretty comfy and has a nice ambiance. You can order lunch or dinner at the bar, however, I've been pretty disappointed lately with the food at 50's PT. It's always been one of my favorites.
