I have heard the servers scold you, how much do they scold? I would have fun with this, but DD is way sensitive, and she would not like it at all. What have been your experiences with this.

I was a little worried for the same reason, my DS is sensitive too. Our waitress was great, she focused mostly on DH and MIL. She gently :flower3: persuaded DS to eat a few bites of food (after she heard me) so that he could have his desert. He ate a few bites and she brought him his desert, she made a big deal about it, but didn't go overboard with him. She seemed to sense his shyness and treated him appropriately. :wizard:

We were there in September 07"

I explained to everyone ahead of time what to expect.
My mom could not wait to get someone in trouble.
She told "Big Sister Emily" that my DD wasn't finishing her dinner and
should not get dessert. Sister Emily told her that she should
stop being a tattle tail and finish her own dinner. :rotfl2:

That was worth the price of admission!!!!

Then my daughter dropped the viewmaster on the floor... (dessert menu is on a viewmaster) and Sister Emily said "That's why we can't have anything nice around here." My DD (age 6) was so happy she got in trouble too!:rotfl2:

We had a lovely time

There was a family next to us that had NO IDEA what was going on with the waitress. She told them about the menu...took their drink orders.
After returning with their drinks the father asked a question and she said
"I told you once and I am not going to tell you again." :rotfl2:

I thought about saying something :rolleyes1 but I just couldn't.....I know it was wrong but I could not resist. They did catch on pretty quick and had alot of fun. :yay: When the waitress brought a second round of drinks and left to go back in the kitchen....the dad then knocked over a soda by accident:scared1: then everyone in our section said "OOOOO your gonna get in trouble!!!" It was great....almost like being with a large family.:dance3:

There was a family behind us that seemed to not want to play along and the waitress seemed to pick up on this right away and it was NO problem.
We enjoyed and can not wait to go back!!!:cheer2:

The few times we have been, they tend to pick on the adults more than the kids. They realize that kids are extra sensitive, and also that it is kinda funny to see mom and dad get into "trouble".

Been there twice and both times we had servers that must have felt our party looked too shy or inhibited to tease because we pretty much got none of it. Very disappointing and this last time we even tried to get our server going, but he seemed too harried to do anything but call us "cousin." Maybe they were shorthanded that day but he was sweating up a storm and running around not saying much of anything to anyone. The greeter did yell at us to hurry up or the dog would get our meal as we were being seated so that was a little bit of fun.

We've gone specifically to get "scolded" thought it would be fun, and we were disappointed. Our server was too much in a rush, she brought our food and drinks out and barely stopped to say anything. We didn't really even notice any of the other servers getting into the act with other customers. Not what we were expecting and wanting to see/participate in. We weren't impressed with the food either. Not the best in the World, by far. And they would not substitute any items on the plates. Don't think we'll be going back.

it's a lot of fun, just be sure to wear hats and keep your elbows on the table:rotfl: ( the cm's don't like your arms hanging down):lmao:

We were there twice in 2007 and it was awesome! :thumbsup2

#1 - We had our "Auntie" as our server. She did end up putting a plastic childs bib on my hubby as he ask for an extra napkin, which he was a great sport about and wore! :goodvibes In our section, there was a table with a young girl celebrating her (10th I think) birthday, Auntie had us all sign a birthday card and sing "Happy Birthday" to our cousin. That was it!

#2 - We had "Mom" as our server. After having us set the table, and bringing drinks/taking our order, she gave us homework to do before supper, including paper and crayons! We had to list all Presidents with one syllable names (eg Bush, Polk, Ford). The table nearby had little kids... their homework was specific to Disney Movies (characters). That was it!

On our second trip we did hear a man singing "I'm a little teapot" and on our first trip our "Auntie" did spoon food (like the airplane) a boy (like 11 or 12), but you could tell he was hankering to have it done... he kept calling attention to the food left on his plate and loved the server giving him a bite! :goodvibes

It is VERY fun, both times there we had tables of kids around us, ranging from 2-teens (including our son) and no one was mortified or made fun of... it is good natured fun!;)

We are scheduling at least two TS meals there during our 2008 trip... maybe three!

We've always had really nice, but funny servers. They adjust to the people in the party, so I would nto worry. You could also say something when checking in.

Thats a great idea, thanks!

Thanks for the responses... so I should tell DH to spill his soda, ask for extra napkins, make sure he wears a hat and keep his elbows ON the table... anything I'm missing?;) :rotfl:

We went there the first time when dd was about 8 and she was terrified that she'd get scolded for something. The server seemed to pick up on that immediately and begin picking on me (which dd adored--particularly when I had to eat my green beans while everyone made choo choo noises) and began loudly referring to dd as "his perfect angel girl with the beautiful manners."

She's 17 now and doesn't mind getting picked on.

Here is a photo of my DD14 getting put in a corner for back-talking after being told to finish her green beans. The corner was by the kitchen door and when she was put over there someone from the back yelled "think about what you have done young lady". It was hilarious. DD loved it and now we have a wonderful memory for the rest of our lives. The servers will only interact with you as much as you want. If they see you or your party is not into the fun they will leave you alone, but then you miss out on the fun of this restaurant.
