What will do at 50's Prime Time if someone does not eat their greens. We have been going to disney for years and never ate there because I heard stories of the staff embarassing you if you don't eat your vegetables/greens.

My DH and DD will not eat them, but would enjoy the fried chicken entree. I know they wouldn't liked being embarassed if the staff made a big scene about it.

Does anyone know if I could mention before we sit down that we don't enjoy any antics? Or should we just stay away and not go at all?

You guys can substitute greens for corn

Oh, that will work. They won't make a big deal about it? I have always wanted to try PT and WCC but have stayed away because of the antics. we don't mind while they are going on, we just aren't a family that likes to join in. We like to sit back and watch.

It's all good fun but if u don't want to play then just tell them. NP.
I hate greens only like Spinach but then again I get the Pot Roast.
Love this place we never miss it.:cool1:

We love PTC.... and all the antics that come with it!

All depends on your server as to how much they will mess with you... We all eat our veggies (or order something w/o them).... BUT, last year, when my 6yr old (then.. now she is 7) didn't finish her Mac N' Cheese... our server (Cousin Mikey.. he was awesome!), made her a hot fudge sundae out of it! SO gross.... she of course HAD to put on the chocolate syrup and sprinkles (it already had whipped cream on top, lol). It was hilarious!! She DID ask for dessert..... :)

yep - they gladly sub corn :)

Thanks for all the replies! I always wanted to try it but was afraid. It looks fun and good. I'm going to add it to our list!

Went last year and ordered the chicken pot pie which was yummy but way too big for me especially at lunch time. Our server said I couldn't have dessert (he did let me have it if I took one more bite) as I hadn't finish my food. Have a look at the menus for 50s PTc on allears.net, if your family don't enjoy the veggies the lunch menu has sandwiches on it as well as the hot meals. We always eat lunch here as DH would not eat anything on the dinner menu.

I think the servers do a good job at also realizing when a certain family might not be in to the embarassing antics and they try to restrain themselves!

My DD did not eat her greens and hid them under a peice of chicken. Her BFF tried to tell "Uncle David" about it and he said to her "Don't be a tattle tale". It was funny. This time we will be asking for corn. ;)

We had so much fun. It had just rained and we were chilled. I wrapped my hands around my coffee but my elbows were on the table. I got yelled at twice....I tried hard to not do it but it is a habit with a warm cup of coffee when you are cold. Finally, they made me stand against the corner of the wall with my nose to it. DD's loved it tons. I just played along for the fun. Cousin Tom had everyone in the restaurant shame me with their finger out saying naughty naughty mom. It was the hilight of the day for my DD's but not me. I just did it out of fun. DH loved it too go figure.
Tell them if you don't want to play. They won't do anything. My DD's kept egging him on. Have fun.

When I went our waitress really didn't play along, which I was kind of disappointed about :guilty:. So not every waiter will give you a hard time. And I'm sure, even if they were being silly, they would back off if they saw someone wasn't playing along.

We enjoyed Prime Time Cafe this past June and the server did not do any outrageous antics. She was pleasant and sociable. At the end of the meal she said she misses us all ready. Great food too. It seems to me with larger families they perform more antics. There was a table of 10 across from us and their server made them sing and stand up. Lots of fun! It is Disney:thumbsup2

That was true for us. We were a bit hesitant and our server was just the right mix of teasing and friendly. Nothing embarrassing at all for us. It was fun.

We had him, too, on our grown-up girls only trip in March. Needless to say, he had a lot of fun with our table. My milkshake was dripping down the side of the cup after he poured it, and he made me lick it off the side and made a dirty joke. Hilarious! I would have been red in the face had we been with family, but with the girls, it was a different story. :rotfl:

We also had his roommate, Sister Emily, when I did go with family last May, and she was lots of fun, too! She came to our tabe in March and gave me a hard time for not requesting her. So fun!

When I ate only half my green beans, our waitress took my plate away and returned it with a big scoop of whipped cream on the beans. She also scooped up a couple of bites of corn and mashed potatoes and fed them to my 10-year old. It was all fun, and not over-the-top.

Our experience was 10 years ago. The server was super fantastic. He was a Jerry Lewis impersonater. You would have thought he was really Jerry Lewis. Mom sent us to the bathroom to wash hands. Came back later and asked us what the color of the soap was to see if we actually washed them......another trip to the bathroom. Mom caught my husband's elbows on the table, so she made him write "I will not put my elbows on the table" ten times. Our friends daughter did not eat her green beans, so she was spoon fed by the server using the airplane technique. My son had some sour flavored candy spray stuff. Our server took it and sprayed it in Moms mouth. It was a riot!

Our next visit 2 years later was very dull. They did not play with us. The food was not as good either. Never been back since.

We went in June and the server made me do the airplane thing to eat one more bite of green beans and DH had to do the Choo Choo to eat his bite and she had the entire section that we were in yell CHOO CHOO!
