50's Prime Time - To do or not to do?

both times we went it was a dissapointment. I will never go again.

We've been several times. It's really "hit or miss" depending on your server. First time we went it was fantastic. Second time was "so-so". My favorite time was in a back section with a few other tables. "Cousin" was determined to intimidate those who didn't eat their veges. Kids were passing veges to adults and adults were passing veges to kids at each others tables. Cousin came back totally confused. Then we all switched kids with each other. The look on his face when he returned was priceless. The kids "stole the show" and had such deadpan looks on their faces when he questioned their "families". Our room was laughing so much, we had both diners and servers looking in to see what was so funny the entire night. Even if you don't have a good server, it is still entertaining to watch the other tables.

We had a blast and would go back again. The first time we got a server that was nice and not overly annoying. Then on a following trip, we went again, but this time with 13 people. The server we had this time was great...he put bibs on the guys and and even had one of them stand up and sing. If you didn't finish your food, he made you do something as well. We all thought it was the best meal, and it was nice to take a break from the heat.

The atmosphere and the food are great! My son was a little embarassed when "the babysitter" told him to eat all his veggies, but it was funny. We're definately going back!

I'm the aberration in our family - I'm the guy who wants to try new places every trip, the rest of the crew is prone to stick with their favorites.

Sooo... we end up at 50sPT virtually every trip, which is fine, because we all like it. Seldom do we make our twice-yearly trip to WDW without taking friends, and that's another reason we always go there, because it's such a uniquely Disneyfied experience for newbies.

And, lucky us, I can't think of a single time when we had a bad server. A couple of times our server was so into his/her role that it was like being in a time warp or parallel universe, it was so immersive. Even my stoic Marine son loves it, and he is NOT easily impressed.

I tend toward the meatloaf; DW always gets the pot roast (she's content in her rut), and the kids vary some. Once, when our entrees seemed to be slow in coming, our server brought us all complimentary salads to tide us over.

I think it's the PB&J milkshake that ultimately does it for me.

Do try it at least once.
