50's Prime Time or Sci-FI

We have eaten at Sci fi once...Prime time 3X. If you go to Primetime and want the interaction, ask at the podium for a server who really participates alot. We did this and had a great time! We are going back to Sci Fi this time because my kids were alot younger the last time we went there and I think they will really enjoy it. (2 boys- 13 and 10). I have heard the food isn't great, so we may just order desserts. Made my PS last night and can't wait!
I am sure you will like either place. The atmosphere is very fun regardless of which you choose. Have a great time!

:D

I've eaten at both and I would definitely choose the Prime Time cafe. The food is great, especially the fried chicken, and the atmosphere is just as good. It was a lot of fun. Just be sure to eat your veggies or you're sure to be embarassed by your server.

OK I just got back and we went to the Prime TIme. It was the WORST FOOD on the entire trip. My Chicken Sandwich smelled really stange and my boyfriends meatloaf was not close to edible. I dont know what the poeple ordered who are saying the food was "wonderful". We ended up eating huge ice cream sundaes for lunch because it was the only thing we could stomach. If the food at Prime Time is better than Sci-Fi, I cant imagine how bad the food at Sci-Fi is. Oh and BTW our waitress didn't do any "role playing" although we did see other servers playing. I would stay away from this place.

Is there anything at Prime Time that doesn't come with Green Beans??? I HATE green beans and if the waitress "forced" me to eat them I would be sick! We tried Sci Fi last time and REALLY liked it (food and atmosphere). But I thought maybe try Prime Time this time around. My kids are 12 and 9.

At Sci Fi, DH and I shared the steak sandwich. My girls each got the corn dog kids meal. This was the only meal that the girls ate every bite!! We also got the glo-in-the-dark ice cubes for the girls. They are expensive (I think ~$5 each) but they were fun.

Sandwiches and burgers don't come with green beans. Only the full meals have them.

I've never been to the 50's PTC but I have been to the Sci-Fi Dine-In. I had fun even though it was just me. The food was good (I had the Ribs) and the atmosphere was different from any other Disney restaurant I went to. It is a bit pricey but it was worth trying it once. I ended up getting the kids drink with the glowing ice cube for about $6 but it was worth all the looks and comments I got at Fantasmic! hehe!

BTW- Planet Hollywood's cheesecake isn't that great!
Crystal Palace and Pizza Planet is great though.

Been to both 3 or 4 times. Luck of the draw regarding the server and food preparation at each venue. Personally, I think the Sci-Fi just edges it of the two but as I walk round MGM (my 2nd favourite park) with a stupid grin all the time I'm easily satisfied. :p

Never been to PT but have been to Sci Fi twice. Food was nothing special but it was good. We really liked the atmosphere. Our boys enjoyed watching us have discussions about the old snack bar commercials....especially the one where the hot dog jumps into the bun.....that one has always cracked me up.

 Wow, there are opinions on both ends of the spectrum here, which makes my decision even harder !! Lookslike the Prime Time might be ahead though.:hyper:

Just got back from Sci-Fi and LOVED it! After reading the reviews here I was not going expecting good food but ours was GREAT - I had the reuben with fries. The sandwich was HUGE so I only ate half , the fries were yummy and I had the "rocket fuel" adult beverage (yummy!) with a green-glo ice cube. My DS had a burger (huge) fries and a chocolate shake - all of which he loved. It was expensive but typically so at Disney. We loved the atmosphere. I think it is great if there is 2 in your party...but they did have tables too if facing each other is important. Oh, the service we had was outstanding as well! My only complaint was my DS didn't say two words to me the entire time - he was so entranced by the film clips!:teeth: That's okay - it was a nice quiet break for me too!
