Which would you recommend?? We are taking 2 teenagers with us who have never been to WDW.
Thanks!

We've been to both with our boys who would have been in the nine to twelve age group at the time.

50's is fun, good food....lots of meat & potato stuff...kitchy ambiance but cute. The thing with this place though is the "entertainment" is really contingent on whether or not you get a good server & if your kids play along with them. Not a bad place though.

Sci-Fi is pretty cool because of the set up. Very different with the "cars" being the tables & the entertainment is the movie clips which are a riot!! Food is OK...more burger & fryish. Not bad though.

I think I preferred the food at 50's overall but if you are doing this for the teens, Sci-Fi is probably the more fun place for that age.

Either way, as it's their first time, you can't go wrong with either choice!! Have fun!!

We have done both and the food at both is very good...if you want a quiet and relaxing meal go to Sci Fi..the atmosphere is soooo cool! If you want the kids to get razzed and feel like you are back in the 1950's go to Prime Time (killer fried chicken)

I'd pick the 50's Prime Time over the Sci Fi! 50's has better food and was a lot more fun. We've eaten there several times. One lunch at the Sci-Fi was enough for us. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't very good if you know what I mean.

With 2 teens...hit the Sci-Fi! I don't know if you have ever been to either but, the food is average at best at both locations. So it's all about atmosphere. To our family it's Sci-Fi all the way! Unless your kids look forward to having the waitress (aka. their sister) tell them to finish there plates or mom in the kitchen will not give them dessert. Some people love the at-home old school feel for dinner. Our crew liked it for about 5 min. Then we were surprised at how far they were taking the "at home fun". We had our entire family there including my 78 yr old grandmother. Now we are a very formal and polite family...that had just been through a week of August comando touring. So needless to say we were all spent and was just looking for a good sit down meal. My grandmother honestly didn't like the flavor of her vegetables and our "Sister" would not serve us anything...drinks, dessert, etc...till she finished them. This went on for over 15 min. SORRY, but that was way over the top for the act. Again my family was still very polite, but vowed never to return!

We have tryed both and enjoyed Sci-Fi better.
We had two Teen Boys and they loved sitting in the
cars at Sci-Fi.

We didn't enjoy the skit of pretending you are related to
people who you don't like (50's PT)--that's why we went to WDW to
get away from annoying family members--just like the Twilight Zone.:scared1:
My food was good at both places.

At Sci-fi our waiter was most accomidating--he got my DS
a Veggie burger at lunch when it was not on the menu--
very good at his job. We let the teens sit in the 1st seat of the
car (they were 13 yrs old at the time, and thought it would be cool to drive).
Plus at the end of your meal the server will give the Ticket (driving/dining)
to the person sitting in the drivers seat (the teens got a kick out of that).
Loved the crazy B Rated Sci-Fi movie Clips.
Have a fun trip!

We just got back today - 50s PT was one of our favs of the trip...it was fun and the food was great! I didn't go to Sci Fi this trip but have been before and wasn't overly impressed...

Been to both many of times. The atmosphere in Si-Fi is cool but the food for dinner isn't.

Prime Time - is great food & good fun. No ? I go to Prime Time.:thumbsup2

Sci Fi is definitely more unique. Teenagers are not going to appreciate the antics at 50's.

We have been to both. Had a good meal and a good time at Sci-Fi.

But we had a GREAT time at 50's Prime Time.

My family would overwhelmingly vote for 50's Prime Time.

Thanks to everyone for your input!!:flower3:
I am leaning more toward the sci fi because I think they would get a kick out of it. Whichever we decide, it will be for lunch and will probably have sandwiches or burgers.
Plus, I'm sure it will also depend on which I can get an ADR for!

50's Prime Time would be my pick hands down. If you enjoy hearty, home style comfort food then this is your place. Nice theme as well inside. Some of the best fried chicken and meatloaf can be had here. I also hear the pot roast is good as well.

50s Prime Time for lunch, Sci Fi for dinner. That's how we did it.

These are my 2 favorite places in ALL of Disney World! Give them the best of both worlds!!!

We ate at both on out trip in May and my kids liked Sci-Fi better. DD did not like 50's at all lol.

We've eaten at both. For teenage boys, definitely the sci-fi. 50s is fun and they have a killer pb&j milkshake, but the atmosphere might be a bit too much to handle. Sci-fi has awesome milkshakes, too, and the food is good enough :thumbsup2 Have fun!!
