respectfully of course.
I just listened to todays DIS podcast and the review of the fried chicken at
50's PT is nothing like what I have had in the past, and I am southern and grew up eating good fried chicken (and cooked some fine chicken too!)

What I've had has always been as good as any I've had anywhere, and in no way tasted like frozen Banquet fried chicken!!! It was always very crispy on the outside and piping hot, moist and tasty on the inside.
I've eaten there at least 8 times now over the last 4 years and never had bad chicken.

agree with you here - have had the fried chicken at 50s and it's always been crispy outside, moist inside - no complaints!

I agree, the fried chicken is the best I've ever had. They are equal to popeyes for me.

We're actualy making a special trip to 50's PT for lunch in September...just for the fried chicken! Yum!!

I have an ADR for the Sci-Fi... but was told to only get shakes to enjoy the atmosphere, but not pay for the food because it was sub-par....

Should I eat at Sci-Fi or just have the shakes????

The fried chicken at 50's is one of my brother's favorite dishes in all of WDW. I have never been impressed with the food at 50's. Now the desserts, on the other hand.....:cloud9:

DH had the fried chicken there and loved it. Last year he didnt like the pot roast. It was tough and chewy.

I, on the other hand, LUV the pork tenderloin with the root hash. It is the only thing I will get.

This is funny, because we went to 50's for the first time last week, my 14 year old daughter is such a picky eater, we're constantly trying to find things she'll eat. She gobbled the fried chicken down, she LOVED it!

I was totally not impressed with the fried chicken or other food there. It is nice for the commodity of what takes place at the restaurant, but the food is mediocre at best. It really reminds me of counter service food (although Pecos Bill's definitely beats that out!!!!!).

I think you're getting 50's Prime Time (which this thread is discussing) and Sci-Fi Dine In mixed up :) They're both at Disney MGM Studios, so it's easy to confuse the two.

Now to answer your question about the Sci-Fi Dine In, I had always read that the burgers, fries, and shakes were good, so that's what we ordered for lunch when we were there, and it was fine :) It's a cool place, so we were glad we had lunch there. The other food items get mixed reviews. I have pictures of our food from there, here on this page: http://www.brownfamilyvacations.com/html/WDWrestrnts2005.htm

Just scroll down til you get to those pictures. Coincidently, I have pictures from 50's Prime Time on that page too. Enjoy :3dglasses

I've had the fried chicken at 50s Prime Time several times, and it's always been delicious. In fact, all the meals I've eaten there have been delicious. It's become one of my favorite TS restaurants. :thumbsup2

The only thing I can think is maybe there was something wrong with the fryolaters that day so they used frozen chicken.. :confused3 I am hoping it will be acceptable when we visit there in a few weeks, although I'm planning to eat the pot roast

Never had bad chicken at 50's Prime Time. Its always been yummy. The sweetpea and I always get it to share. Then wish we would have gotten our own.
