50s Prime Time Closed in Jan?

I started trying a few days ago to make an ADR at 50s Prime Time for Wednesday, January 7 at lunch time. Disney Dining said there was no availability for the entire lunch period that day, which I found unusual. So I thought I'd check online, and it's showing no availability at Prime Time each day starting January 1st! So I'm wondering if it's scheduled for rehab at that time, like the Crystal Palace. Anyone here in the know?

Nope, not closed! Just busy! I fooled around a bit with the online ADRs and finally got one for 5:45pm on January 1st! IMHO - it is THE BEST food in DHS so I am not surprised it is busy!

Looks like that day is one of the few times that week they are having Fantasmic. We got a ressie at 4:10 and Fantasmic is at 6:30. Maybe everyone else is wanting to eat there that day too?

I initially booked 50s PT on January 7th for 7:30 after Fantasmic but later cancelled it because I got a Fantasmic Package. I plan to only go to DHS that day for the dinner and show. Last January I went to DHS on a Fantasmic Day (they are few and far between at that time of year) and it was so unbelievably crowded. It was just a sea of people everywhere. After all that Fantasmic was rained out!

If you have a hopper pass I would go to another park in the morning and go to DHS very early for Fantasmic, at least 2 hrs before. Then return to DHS another day and have lunch at 50's PT. If you have a base ticket I would skip that park altogether that day unless you really really want to see Fantasmic. I usually deal with crowds fairly well but that day last January was just unbearable.

I tried making lunch reservations for 1/13/10 today and there was nothing available. I did searches for all of January, and couldn't find one lunch time available (tried all sorts of party sizes). I did see dinner reservations available though. Is it possible they might be closed during lunch in January? I don't see how they could since this is such a popular restaurant. It just seems funny that dinner times would be released but lunch times would not...ah, the wonders of Disney's reservation system...

Are you a day early to make the reservation? Being that today is the 12th I would think that you could only make it for Jan 12.. minus the 31 days in Dec.. wouldnt only the 11th of jan be open for reservations? You know, the 90 day out thing?
