Our last visit we ate at Sci-fi in hollywood studios but this time around we are trying 50'S prime time cafe. Any thoughts??

Our experience with 50's Prime Time has gotten progressively worse since the first time we ate there. The last time we were there was summer of 2007. Service was OK. Food was OK. Menu choices were OK (see a pattern)

We love Prime Time! The food is great and if you get the right server it can be a lot of fun! It's a must-do for us!:thumbsup2

Great Choice.

It is a favorite of my family and friends.

Definitely get the Onion Ring Appetizer, and Definitely save room for dessert.
I will have the brownie sundae please.

You will walk off the calories later !

Looking forward to the responses in this thread. We will be trying this out in June!

Smart choice. We enjoyed 50s PTC SOOO much more than Sci-Fi (it was lousy). The service was good and the food was very yummy.

This is our favorite spot to eat at Disney. We love the fried chicken and the "TV Dinners" served in foil. The wait staff are incredible. Eat here, have a blast!!

Lucky you!!!!:goodvibes

This place is a blast! The food is great as well & huge portions! If you are a party of 4 or more, ask for a tv booth. Certain booths have black and white tv's set up & they play clips of 50's sitcoms.

The 50's cafe is a must do on our list. It's actually one of the first places my girls mention...even over some of the character meals! The food is great. My DH loves the fried chicken...youngest DD LOVES the meatloaf! (I found a recipe for their meatloaf...I tried it...no where near as good as the 50's cafe!) As a PP stated...make sure you save room for dessert. I love the brownie sundae!

We love this restaurant, we eat here every trip for lunch. We enjoy the sandwiches and PB&J shake, and DD always gets the chicken pot pie. In January of this year, we tried the crab cake, and it was very good, as is the shrimp cocktail.

This isn't a signature dining establishment, but it is good comfort food, and we love the fun atmosphere! Very Disney.:goodvibes

The food here is so Momma's style which is what we wanted and it turned out great. Hopefully you will get a great server that just makes the experience. I think the server is key to this meal. The first time we went the server was just OK and didnt really "play" along. We gave it another shot and the second time the server was awesome and made it so much more enjoyable. He airplane fed my husband his greens :lmao: and made my little sister sweep the floor :lmao: imagine a 13 yr old doing that LOL

We now are fans for life of the 50's Prime Time!!!

I love "50's Prime-Time" and have eaten there many, many times. However, the last time we were there (Dec., 2007) it was "buffet-style", and it just wasn't the same. I had told my wife about this place, since it was to be her first time there, and her reaction was the same as mine. The food was great, but it wasn't what I had prepared her for, and she was disappointed also.... Apparently they have gone back to the "original format", and I am happy to say that we will be dining there when we go back, again, this November.

I love 50's Prime Time Cafe - this is one of my favorite places to eat. The fifties theming is really neat & the servers are alot of fun. The food isn't gourmet, but it's good - I personally enjoy "mom's old fashioned pot roast."

one of our fav places we ate at disney. The place was fun and the food was good. Our "cousin" also airplane fed my DH his veggies, it was hilarious! I had to set the table since i was late for dinner (changing DS). This is a must do for us now!

We went in 2007 and my kids loved it. I have booked for April so hubby can go. Love it!!

This one of my favorite restaurants. The onion rings are great. I love the pot roast and hubby loves the salmon. I never get dessert cause I'm always stuffed!!

What do you mean by "buffet style"? I mean, I know what a buffet is, but I never knew that there was a time 50s changed to a buffet and I have been there several times. You have peaked my curiosity.
