50mm vs. 55-200mm?

Agree, lazy was not the best choice or words.

Sometimes a zoom is a must, you can't walk on water for example.

But I like the challenge of working my way into proper position for taking the shot.

Speaking of lazy, when I am *not* being that (occasionally) I prefer to set up the photo at the distance that gives the perspective I want, then select a lens that gives the magnification I want. A zoom makes the 2nd part easier but a bag full of primes is likely to offer a wider aperture and better sharpness. To that end my current 25 mm and 45 may soon be joined by a 7.5, 12, and 75.

Have you thought about renting a lens, or two, for your trip to WDW? That way you can kind of "date" the lens while on your trip and decide if you want to "marry" it once you get home.

That's a very good idea. I was going to do that for my last trip with a wide angle I coveted. I then decided to purchase it, use it while away (we were gone for nearly 3 weeks so rental costs were going to be substantial), with the intention of selling it and getting almost all my money back on my return. We have been back for 5 months and I still have the lens .... with no intention to sell it!

However, renting a lens is a great way to test drive it. Sometimes things look great in spec online, but when you start spending some time with them, they turn out not to suit you - or to be perfect

My walk around park lens is my 18-200, I also carry my 50mm 1.4 for night and indoor. I recently purchased the Tamron 70-200 f2.4, it is rather large and heavy so I am not sure if I will take it into the parks as a walk around.
