Agree, lazy was not the best choice or words.
Sometimes a zoom is a must, you can't walk on water for example.
But I like the challenge of working my way into proper position for taking the shot.
Speaking of lazy, when I am *not* being that (occasionally) I prefer to set up the photo at the distance that gives the perspective I want, then select a lens that gives the magnification I want. A zoom makes the 2nd part easier but a bag full of primes is likely to offer a wider aperture and better sharpness. To that end my current 25 mm and 45 may soon be joined by a 7.5, 12, and 75.
