$500 gift card thru Sunshine Rewards

I just cashed out for my 2nd $500 Gift Card thru Sunshine Rewards!! I know it's been talked about and tossed around on this board as to whether or not it's worth it, but i am living proof that it can be done!!

In about 85 days, I am going to WDW without my DH and Kids! There is a group of about 20+ past Disney Brides that are getting together for our big huge Mega Meet. Dh said no more family disney trips until we get some bills paid....he's so responsible! But I knew that I could get my trip paid for with SR money.......and I did!! It took me a little over 4 months to earn $500for a GC to pay for the DP and a 2 day ticket and spending money. I am now saving up for $150 for the car rental. I NEVER would have been able to attend this meet without the help of Sunshine Rewards! It really does work!!

Yes I need your secret too. I can get 10 minutes into a survey, and then it tells me that I am not qualified. I spend so much time trying to do surveys... But never qualify.

I did do a search before posting, to see if (1) there were any other posts about SR, and (2) where to put it. This forum had the most. If the mods feel it needs to be moved, that's fine.

I felt it needed to be here because my budget would never have allowed a solo Disney trip in such a short amount of time. It took us 20 months to save up for our trip last year!

Secret? there really isn't one, other than to just keep trying. there really isn't a set pattern as to when the best time is to get surveys or what you have to be interested in.

I cashed mine out for $75 (made it in 45 days doing only surveys really) but I'm HOPING it will arrive in time. There registration makes you wait 45 days to sign up, so I cashed out on the first available day, and we are leaving in early November. Cards take 4-6 weeks, so if you are cashing out, make sure you leave PLENTY of time to receive it.....

that's a good $$ doing only surveys! I'm about 50% surveys, 50% shopping.

yes it does take a while to get the cards.....sadly they don't keep a stock for $500 gift cards on hand. but i'm good...i've got about 11 weeks left.

Definitely takes me longer to accumulate $ than it took you, LOL. But I've done OK. We're starting our big WDW with 2 nights at CBR, and we paid the deposit with part of a $250 card I got from SR, and I've since gotten another.

For me, it's been all about booking hotels for hubby's travel. Takes away the sting of him being gone, let me tell you!

And even though the post relates to a rewards site, it's about *budget*, because it's allowing people to go to WDW when they otherwise could not do it, or for us giving more leeway in the budget. Perfect placement in the budget category, and in fact it was because people were posting about it that I first joined SR and mypoints to begin with! It has helped my *budget*, that's for sure!

Back then, I thought (and plenty of people still do) that the disney rewards forum was for the Disney VISA card...

Oh, for surveys.

Go slowly (I try to give each page enough time so that I could read it out loud to someone), read carefully. You can keep on trying (many people think that one "you don't qualify" means you're all done for the day).

Surveys are way better than they used to be IMO...

I've been doing Sunshine Rewards off and on for months. I just hit $30 last month, but it isn't in time for my trip.

I think I'm not in their demo. I don't have kids and I don't own a home. I also am a REALLY fast reader and I can't slow down on surveys. I got most of my rewards from booking Priceline and Orbitz hotels for our weekend trips.

So you did get the double dipping hotels.com thing? Where you booked through SR and still got hotels credit? I've done this but not for a trip already taken so we'll see. I also have trouble with surveys and I go S L O W. Overall, I'm very pleased with SR. I have one $100 gc waiting for my january trip and another ready to cash out.

I currently have a $135 and had already cashed out $50. I started in February but went for quite a few months without doing surveys. With chrismtas near I have started ordering through sunshine rewards to earn $ and have started back at surveys. The plus is that you don't have a cut off time to cash out and can just carry the money over! I am determined to get enough $ to go to disney again. I still need to make like $900

I think you can "double dip".......there was just a topic about it in their forum.


I do tend to go a bit too fast on the survey's too.....i've been kicked out a few times and had it tell me I went to fast. that'll get ya. but you just slow down the next time.....it's like getting a speeding ticket.....you only do it once!

if you don't qualify, just take a break and come back a later time. sometimes in the morning I'll try and get nothing....such a let down. then I'll go back after lunch and be able to get 3 done in an hour! you just have to keep trying.......set a goal for youself and stick to it!

I love Sunshine Rewards! Two years ago, I cashed out $90 via Paypal and bought most of my boys' Christmas presents. I currently saving my money for Disney cards for our upcoming 2012 trip.

If you can't slow down on surveys, then open another window and read the DIS or your email while your doing them. Or unload your dishwasher. Or fold some laundry. I do my housework and surveys at the same time -- five minutes on a survey followed by 10 minutes housework. Make sure that your computer is set to accept cookies and that you clear them after the survey credits.

It takes persistence to do the surveys. My DH works for the media, which is an automatic disqualification on at least half of them, but I still manage to get a couple most days. Some days are a lot better than others, of course.

I don't have a Disney trip planned at this point, but I'm definitely laying the groundwork. I've got $650 in SR gift cards and quite a bit more that hasn't been cashed in yet.
